My question is, why tf don't they just turn bandits/death row inmates into clones? Also producing small arms shouldn't be that difficult... Hell, with the technology of the Empire of Man (or whatever it is called), why are they not just mass producing tanks and steamrolling the entire planet? Too many plot holes in this story. The main mission of Alan isn't to peacefully integrate this planet, it is to prepare it for a bug invasion but he is instead trying to follow local culture at the expense of precious time.

... thats not what it is at all. its magnetic waves that interfere with their comms. You know, like a comms jammer would work. They have been implying imperial tech for a while. Including the goddess being an AI using alans nanoms to communicate with him in a way his own AI couldn't detect, which just goes to show you that their guns are bigger than his.

No but Electronic Magnetic Pulses (aka EMP's) does interfere with tech. And magnets do fuck up you phone if they are strong enough. I literally work with a powerful magnet at work, i keep my phone far away from it cause it kills computers and such.

The weird part is still who is the fake Cleria that's invading his mind and why they can't intervene if his mission really is to save Humanity on Aless (or whatever the planet's name is now, the name is inconsistent between chapters).

I am very bugged by Alan's response to his contacts with her. He is keeping it a secret, which is a major point of vulnerability for their effort. Nobody else can be working on the significance of her existence and abilities, and he is sometimes not good at thinking flexibly. This is like concealing a zombie bite.
