Not just you. It feels like they're taping a new story over the original one. I've said it before, this series should have ended when Alan stopped being an adventurer and became a Holy King.

If they really wanted to make...whatever this story is now, they could have made a mini-series featuring these two guys while they let the author cook and figure out how to bring Alan back into the story (or do a time-skip and have the son carry on his work).

Sounds like there being genetic markers that would allow certain members of the population to interact with the technology of the Ancients beyond simply turning them on.

Ancient tech at or exceeding modern Imperial tech was part of the original story, as was the AI able to force open a backdoor without Iris detecting it.

Here, honestly disappointed on how they throw away initial premises for this bullshit

They should go to time skip route on how the empire armed itself for bug invasion, like 50-100 years into the future. MC said it himself that this is ultra long term plan, there's literally no reason to keep the story with this pace.

Unless they want to pull up another BS that there some kind of bug variant that already planted itself several thousands years ago or something like that.

But the Theological aspect is driving me nuts honestly, clash between Technology and Religion is lame asf.
