The final battle, make sure to turn on the BGM of red alert 2 for maximum effect
I think this whole thing is actually two gods fighting each other. Humans and bugs are just their proxies. Two points.
1. Alan Corinth's resemblance to the Emperor of Mankind from WH40K grows by the day. First, he gives "join me or die" ultimatums and now he has to fight an Eldredge Dragon.
2. I think the Goddess turned the prince into a monster not because she is on his side but because she wants to get him out of the way and add more to Alan's legend. The bug connection im not sure about.
Yeah, maybe they aren't bugs as in insects, but as in a malfunction.I think we did get a few shots of them in the first few chapters but to bring up also in the earlier chapters Nanom not only helps vastly change the structures of humans but provide communication between users and can be injected into other humans. Also remeber how Alan ship AI cloned herself?
There is a lot of factors weighing in at the very least humanity or an AI is behind the creation of the bugs or at least involved with them on this planet.
My current feelz on that is divergent ....Opinions... regarding the application of nanotech and its applications in making humans more "suitable" for space colonisation during the early stages of the Diaspora.Yeah, maybe they aren't bugs as in insects, but as in a malfunction.
Reminds me a bit of the anime Gargantia where humanity split one side going the route of advanced technology and the other advanced biology and they end up at war with each other.I don't know, we didn't see the bugs before, but that flashback image looks like the transformed human from this chapter. So, it's possible that the Bugs were humans all along, and maybe that Goddess is the Nanom that the Empire's people all use.
This incident has some pretty heavy implications, remember, only 2 intelligent life forms have been found in the universe in-series, humans and bugs.
What this implies to me, provided this isn't some VR environment like Xical said, is that the "bugs" are either parasitized humans, or altered ones, meaning that there's another force, whatever these "gods" are, possibly some ancient super advanced ai, that's creating the "bugs" for some reason, making the entire plot change it's entire path.
Basically, humanity is fighting against other humans, mutated and warped into the bugs, the bugs aren't a invading alien species, but a corrupted humanity.
You know, I have for a long while felt as if the manga deviated from what I expected the wn to do. Pretty much ever since it ran out of wn material to adapt (accoridng to some comment I read back then) iirc? Odd, yeah?
Either way, it feels like whoever is writing this is just pulling whatever plot-twists they can, with no care to what was fun about the novel before :/
This has fallen off hard since the manga ran out of LN material to adapt and went full on original.
Are you saying the original author has finally continued the story or are you talking about the fanfiction sequel that people often confuse for being official? because that might the reason your original comment was deleted. That's not the case tho... I'm still not sure how we lost track of it after chapter 96, but it seems like the Original WN was continued and it ended very recently, on August of this year, at chapter 119.
The group that translated the first part of the WN (lightnovelstranslations) seems to have very recently picked up the continuation of it.
PD: I would give you the links to the original WN and the translation... but my previous post was probably moderated because of them.
it's definitely the fanfic sequel. The author hasn't written a new chapter since 2020. His syosetu page only shows 95 chapters. Someone is writing fanfic chapters and posting them on novel updates as real chapters. Definitely reporting them and having them removed. Are you saying the original author has finally continued the story or are you talking about the fanfiction sequel that people often confuse for being official? because that might the reason your original comment was deleted.
The author hasn't continued the wn, what you're talking about is a fan created continuation and lightnoveltranslations is stupidly posting the chapters on the real wn's page on novelupdates which is going to get them banned. The authors syosetu page only has 95 chapters, it's been abandoned for 5 years. That's not the case tho... Mob character? Interesting. Link please?it's definitely the fanfic sequel. The author hasn't written a new chapter since 2020. His syosetu page only shows 95 chapters. I also found another fanfic novel of this but told from the point of view of a mob character.
It's almost certainly some incorporeal hyperintelligence that is creating and mobilizing the bugs, but humans don't realize that. Alan assumed the bugs arrival based on them flying around not realizing some galactic consciousness can just make bugs. Two points.
