If further chapters continue to address the matter, regardless of how, then it's actually being used. Otherwise it's just cynical search engine tag baiting.

My preferences? Use the concepts put forth. End of sentence and preference.
Chapter 1 does not come off as having any intent to revisit the matter, thus it appears that "tomboy demigod princess" is the core concept and "that used to be a guy" is uselessly tacked on for cynical tag usage. It is a perfectly valid concern and complaint, especially in a thread discussing only this first chapter and not the series as a whole, even you yourself claim to have found things poorly using the concept and had to go skimming ahead to confirm otherwise.

Funny how many people are pissed off about the gender bender not being utilised properly.

I mean it is not about GB not being used but a tag in general not being used, if you tag your story "drama/horror/psychological" but you write K-on like why did you even bother with the tag
Or ask the Girl's Love fan how they feel about tag baiting and the famous ending of "they here just roomate" when the tag was present.
Generally in any story the less bloat you include the more focused and good you can be, not every story has to be written like that but there is a reason why "Chekhov's Gun" is a know thing and why it is enjoyable instead of setting up the gun and doing nothing with it for the story.

My recommendation for you, who seem to only value serious gender bender stories, is to avoid anything with a "comedy" tag.

OIh come on you know you are wrong on that one , many good story can have comedy and take their tag seriously, or have that tag better used, I do not like Ranma 1/2 (cause the same joke said over like 32 volumes is not exactly my type of comedy) but the GB is very present in it and I do not think any one is going to complain it was part of it.
Rosen Garten Saga is another one where the GB is 100% deservered even if it is quite the opposite of a deep disection of gender identity.

If you're unsatisfied with that, then this story simply wasn't written for you. Which is okay. No story is for everyone.

I checked this story that appear to be a very generic I got reincarnated as a OP/important persone because of the GB tag cause it could add some intresting spice to the story but if it is not used I will just move on to better written story that fit my taste better.

Interestingly enough, there is a manga I've been reading that set one of those up and just used it. Midway through the first volume the dude gets the "Instant Princess" skill to let him teleport to any woman he wants. I figured it'd just be used as an excuse for volume extras of him plowing whatever girl the author felt like revisiting, but come volume 4 he gets banished to the underworld and immediately escapes with it. And then mating presses a trap so hard he turns into a futanari in order to save the day.

Rosen Garten Saga is another one where the GB is 100% deservered even if it is quite the opposite of a deep disection of gender identity.

Describing a single event and the series as a whole in one sentence do decidedly leave things feeling much different.

Like I am a GB coinosseur I kinda read like 80% of the one of mangadex and I still wonder why so many chose that type of story and just never do anything with it, like just write a normal girl if you are going to threat the character as a normal girl why make her a man in the past if that has no plot implication

well most of the good one it has been a long time since I read them and I have a very bad memory so I can't give you a lot of them but

The Witch's Servant and the Demon Lord's Horns is great... tho I haven't finished it cause the TL was very slow 4 years ago but now it is finished so I should do that
Ore ga Watashi ni Naru made also been a while as I am waiting for more chapter to pile up before rereading it but it was great too
Zenbu Kimi no Sei it is on the shorter end and also completed, I am a little less fan of it but it is still better than most

Also there is a lot of good/great story that has a gender bending element but that is not the point of the story like this one J⇔M the point is more of a body swap and so identity swap than gender swap and this great one Tengoku Daimakyou (spoiler tag again and also I am not up to date on that one as I want to wait for it to finish before rereading it so it might have done something more with the GB than what I read)

And to finish I recently started reading web novel on ScribbleHub here the link with the transgender tag, tho I must warn it seems a LOT of it is kinda "smut" in them, but well sexuality is kinda very close to gender identity so while it is not to my cup of tea it also is refreshing to see that part of the experience developed

there are many reasons, i feel like it started because someone thought that it would be funny but now i agree that it just look like a fetish, i mean a lot of these got yuri on it so it seens like they want to write a yuri without being a actual yuri, the mentality of mc also play a part of it since writing a man becoming a girl might be easier than writing a real girl
