I was just thinking the same thing but here's what is going on: Loren and Lapis are looking for an exit that is less dangerous than the goblin nest they just went through but the silver ranked adventurers are NOT looking for an exit - they are currently mapping out the dungeon for a quest. The silver ranked adventurers are also unwilling to waste time escorting Loren and Lapis out, so they wouldn't go through the goblin nest for Loren and Lapis. So Loren and Lapis asked for directions to the exit, with the assumption that reaching the dungeon's entrance is less dangerous than going back through the cave which was filled with goblin's, but unfortunately, the silver ranked adventurers are slightly confused as to their own whereabouts due to falling in a trap and cannot inform them.
It does seem a bit silly that the silver ranked adventurers are on a quest to map out the dungeon but aren't considering mapping an unofficial exit through a goblin's nest, but that cave is technically not a part of the dungeon, hence their lack of interest in it. It seems odd that they're willing to continue mapping the dungeon despite being lost but they are silver ranked and have apparently not encountered anything yet that would convince them that continuing to explore the dungeon is dangerous and that it would be safer to exit through a nest of goblin.
So, while it does seem foolish to follow adventurers on a quest of unknown difficulty, Loren and Lapis are better off following them since Lapis is disabled and they have no idea where they are with no preparations for a dungeon exploration while the silver ranked adventurers are at least aware of what dungeon they are exploring. If they encounter something worse than a horde of goblins, they can return to this location to exit (provided they don't get more lost through traps), otherwise they can tag along with the silver ranked adventurers until the end of their quest or until they stumble on the dungeon entrance. It's not without risk, but at this point it's their best choice as their alternatives are going back alone through the goblin nest, or going through the dungeon alone to find the exit.

uh, they can just go through the goblin cave. I mean, they have 4 silver adventurers now
