It really depends on the region/culture. In Hawaii it's very common to refer to an older person, whether it be family friend, acquaintance, or even a stranger as Uncle or Auntie. Calling them Sir or Ma'am is a little too formal unless you're in some kind of customer service position.Usually im very anal about leaving in japanese honorifics/suffix.
In this case im ok with "translating" it to auntie since it is her literal aunt, many times oba-san or onii-san are used to refer to strangers and i hate how they get changed to something like uncle since thats not how one would refer to a stranger in english.
How I understand it, Yuna, who thinks Nerin is the same age as her (teen/young adult range) is commenting on how Nerin is treating her like a kid who needs to learn basic life lessons like not trusting strangers, because of how odd/generous Yuna's personality isI only found this TL weird on page 15:

I know looks can deceive, but above implies they know the age, thus it(looks) should not be a factor.
