Usually im very anal about leaving in japanese honorifics/suffix.

In this case im ok with "translating" it to auntie since it is her literal aunt, many times oba-san or onii-san are used to refer to strangers and i hate how they get changed to something like uncle since thats not how one would refer to a stranger in english.

The wros offender usually are the mafia like aniki/anego since it have a connotation and many times they are just changed to brother where it doesn't make sense, again, in english.

If someone is [also] your age, why would they think you are younger?
I know looks can deceive, but above implies they know the age, thus it(looks) should not be a factor.
