About the Oni, despite the same premise in Slime Tensei they are good guys and forgiving which reflects the light hearted theme

The Oni in Kumo Desu is very easy to anger and very slow to forgive which reflects the darker theme.

Also he have Unlimited Blade Works, he is like the very dark and edgy version of Emiya Shirou

Also both their backstory is simillar in a nutshell but Oni's in KumoDesu is much, much nastier

I guess KumoDesu author's Oni somewhat inspired by SlimeTensei but make it far darker to be antithetical to each others
