Note that they changed the order of some of the battles in this part of the novel. In the web novel, she first defeats Alaba, then encounters the mage, summoner, and elite soldiers, while in the light novel / manga, she first watches Alaba beat the giant snake, she encounters the humans, then beats Alaba. So while this manga chapter is chapter 145 in the WN, the next-to-read chapter would be 148. That said, I prefer the WN/LN version of the Kumoko vs. humans fight (146-147 from Kumoko's POV, and The Nightmare of the Labyrinth 1-4 from the human summoner's); I feel the manga version didn't give it justice.
Her encounter with the soldiers from earlier (the ones who immediately ran away) also had a human POV (the labyrinth guide's), which was absent in the manga.

I think Alaba is like a warrior in a sense. He's the kind who search around for strong enemy and fight them head-on with all he's got. If he win, then he will search for stronger ones. If he lose, he dies with honor and his dignity intact, finally facing an enemy capable of defeating him. He accepted his fate and congratulates the enemy for winning. (I think this is how it is in japanese folklore about samurai..?)

In this chapter, Alaba admits defeat and not struggle anymore, because he knew he lose the fight. He honor the end of the fight by accepting his death, rather than squirming, begging for his life which I assume would shatter his pride as a warrior. At least that's how I perceived it from Alaba's behavior.

Holy sh*t was this manga pointless
You can read the first 5 chapters and skip tens of chapter and still it would make perfect sense, there are so many "grinding session" with so little lore exposition or anything remotely interesting. God, it even takes 38 chapters just for her to get out of the dungeon.
It really makes me wonder why it has 8.95 stars like wtf

Dude the whole point of this manga is that she got reincarnated with almost zero advantages (OP Powers) when you compare it with other isekais (or her classmates).
Location: The worst and biggest dungeon of the world (Meanwhile most of her classmates are in human kingdoms).
Race: Spider Monster, the weakest monster of the dungeon (Meanwhile her classmates are Humans, Demons, elves, there's even one that is a dragon).
Skill Points: 100 (Aside from Kumo the classmate with least points have 50,000).
Unique Skill: Speed Boost (Meanwhile others have skill that let them Create Magic Weapons, Be a Vampire without weaknesses and others).

with so little lore exposition
Inside a cave? She's not in a city or library. Why would the gods go out of their way just to explain how this world works to a spider?

It really makes me wonder why it has 8.95 stars like wtf
This is because unlike other isekai MCs Kumo have an actual personality and isn't a goody two shoes characters whose only purpose is to attract waifus.
Also here there's not a Tsundere Dragon/Magic Stone/Other McGuffins to give Kumo OP Powers. She need to gain her power little by little by her own effort and find the exits of the dungeon (you know, where she's trapped). Why would she find the exit in 2 chapters?

It is true, but still, 38 chapter for the manga to actually progress is a loooong time, im glad that when I start reading this its already in chapter 36 or something, I can't imagine waiting for a whole year to see it not progress anywhere. They can at least handle it some other way like with time skip or something, like how "Mushoku Tensei" handle it or how "Jimi na Kensei wa Sore Demo Saikyou Desu" do the training time skip, and then we see how awesome the spider is after years or month of training and we get to see her(?) exploring outside world more.

It is true about the personality though, im glad she's a female character and a spider to top it off, no harem bullsh*t or whatever

Technically speaking there're time skips during the labyrinth (the word "Plot Line jump" is more accurate).
This story is supposed to be told by 2 main characters, Kumoko and Shun, one if her classmates who was reincarnated as a human prince.
It's in Shun's Chapters where the world building and overall plot advance. Things like other countries, religions, the Hero and what's happening with the demons are explained during Shun Chapters.
But for some reason the manga decided to cut those chapters.
There's also a bunch of other reincarnators that appear in Shun Story.
Skipped chapters

As you see the dungeon arc is long (3 whole volumes and part of volume 4)

Wow, thank you for the whole context, I didn't read the novel because I can't speak Nintendo but also im not a fan of novel. Certainly intriguing though, why does the author decide to cut out the best part.

Did he really just want to focus on the spider girl or that there's another manga adaptation for the other classmate perspective that im not aware of because certainly 3 book for a dungeon arc is just too much. Or is this kind of grindy manga is what people into now and I'm just out off loop 🤔

As far as I know the original author isn't in charge of the manga. The manga being an adaptation is in hands of another person, it was the mangaka the one that decided to cut the classmates parts.
In some way I think this is for the best, the mangaka is clearly not the best when it comes to draw (or adapt) humans.

Seems the Shun chapters are covered in the manga tankoubon: volumes 3, 4, and 6 (available in, ahem, certain places). Though, the POV isn't Shun's, instead it's from Shinohara Mirei / Feirune (the pet dragon). They've only adapted S3 and S5 from volume 1, though. They're like 10 pages long or less, without any world building so far.

The one on the left wasn't so bad, the one on the right though is.... an acquired taste. But it's a shame if they decided to cut that part solely because the drawing is a bit unique. I swear if the next chapter of this manga starts with another fighting scene where the spider girl defeat another impossibly leveled character by using its poison-infused-web-morningstar-laser-eye and managed to survive with 1 hp because of patience or some other BS ill drop it, it's getting too much for me

@CharlesDexterWard
err sorry, pet dragon? And even when its the classmate POV it still doesn't do any world-building? And here I thought One piece is slow with its pacing

Nope, actually, patience have been barely meantioned and even less used in volume 4 (aka, the next arc) in the LNs.
the classmate's POV hasn't advanced a lot in the manga. i reccomend you reading the LNs.

Kadokawa (the novel publisher) is going to have a special celebration this month featuring 3 of it's novels. Kumo is one of them.
Some user in the Kumo discord said that the article also mention that there will be some special announcements for the 3 novels during this month.
Due to the fact that the 3 novels have an anime adaptation already comfirmed we can hope for news about the anime this month or at least what's left of the year.

Also the celebration comes with some cards with guest artists. Here's the link (obviously spoiler)
