Yeah but it would take months or years for that information to reach the capital, if it ever does.

Selling it in the capital would reach Jinshi's ears within a week easily, but here? Information does not travel easily. I don't think Jinshi would be mad if she sold it in this situation though, since money can be used to bribe people and keep herself safe. Though walking around with a lot of money might be more dangerous than walking around with a fancy hair stick.
