Fortunately the MC has never been betrayed or lied to in his life, so he would have no reason to doubt anyone's words and thus make his own decisions. No, wait, he actually lost his life when he was betrayed in the worst way possible. He's truly a special person to still sport so much faith and trust in people after such an incident.

Normally you'd always at least review some past exams for an entrance exam that actually matters to you, just to make sure you actually know the stuff well enough. The only exception I could imagine would be if it's exactly your own field of expertise, so you might as well have been the very person designing the exam. The other alternative would be if you had some otherworldly cheat ability. But I suppose it would also depend on your personality, in reality. If you know you will get in through a backdoor anyway, maybe some folks wouldn't care. Personally, I'd hate to be at the bottom with a score that suggests you are a blistering idiot.

Not being the original doesn't really mean much in this context as they still are thinking he's from a relatively close timeframe most likely, ask most people in the united states and they should at least know who the us president is for example, takeru is a unique person who has lived under a rock in comparison to most people, so they probably didn't realize he wouldn't know some rather famous people's names.

It's ridiculous that this was copied enough times to turn it into a cliche. I assume the first time was because it made sense for the character... but almost every time I see it, it just feels like a random decision because "naked woman lul"

Only time I've seen it make any sense, is Regena Babylon from "In another world with my cell phone"... but her work is also her home.

Also, Regina was established as a pervert extraordinaire before we ever saw her.

The flashback about studying for exam was during the yakiniku party. Takeru only told Sakura the next day, and it seems like he took the exam the day after.
So, I think Sakura just never got the chance to warn him.
