Given how the gates keep spawning exactly where the MC is, I can think of three logical reasons for it:
1) Someone is targeting him, so they keep on spawning the gates at his location.
2) His immense mana leaking out of his body stimulates the rifts between the dimensions, causing gate outbreaks.
3) Because he got summoned to a different dimension in the past, his soul mutated and gained the ability to travel between dimensions. This special property then became a medium, as well as a stimulant for the creation of inter-dimensional gates.

To be realistic, if you had a huge amount of power, it would be pretty annoying to keep hiding it. You'd feel like a weakling if you didn't do anything, plus it would disturb your everyday life. If you wanted to use the power but perfectly hid it, it would be a whole lot of extra work. Takeru's only reason for hiding it, in the first place, was to hide the total level of his power because he fears the world turning against him. That's not any absolute inevitability, though.
