Yeah, I actually love this! It felt like she loved the idea of hot-blooded yankee manga, but it wasn't clear exactly how so. There was a bit of wonder in me still if she thought they were cool and wanted to take one as a husband, or if she thought they were cool and wanted to do the stuff they did in the manga.

That it's the latter is the best choice. She wants a hot blooded rivalry where all that needs to be said is said with your fists. Perfect setup.

I wasn’t expecting page 12 at all, I just hope the gag doesn’t stick around for a while. Unless he’s not becoming a regular in which case it matters a lot less.

I can’t help but feel the art struggles with dynamism and action, how quickly she pulls off the throws in the earlier chapters made it less clear but the punches lack impact? Maybe it’s the panelling, I can’t feel the punches as much. The facial expressions of the guys being punched are great though.
