Could the mysterious person on the Vol 3 cover be possibly Momo's sister?
She also has the same hair color and accessory ribbon as Tamasakura cat.

Why is Mikan not in on this conference? She has every right to be included.

@BugDemon -

Momo doesn't have a shortage of jealousy, but I think what happened was she was terrified that she was going to lose Shamiko and not be able to stop it happening. What Momo is expressing is fear and frustration and a sense of helplessness about Shamiko's safety and Momo's own vulnerability to the loss. As you know, that becomes even bigger later.

I think her caving about the phone card signaled discouragement.

The jealousy that has been overcoming Momo comes from Momo's fear of losing a loved one. Before, she had Sakura, and has been grieving losing her, and now, she has Shamiko, and the apprehensions of loss are growing stronger. The specter of losing Shamiko's affection to Mikan was enough to make her stupidly jealous. Losing Shamiko to the demonic side where she could not get to her would be enough to drive her over the edge.

Now, Momo has the sense to be wary of the "Miko"-hating, Miko-killing fox girl who has every reason to bear a homicidal grudge against the magical girl who invaded the restaurant, even though she probably doesn't except in the mildest way.

All of this amidst the overwhelming sweetness and humor.

Momo certainly has abandonment issues. She wants to monopolize Shamiko and it isn't even subtle anymore. Just the idea that she would have a part-time job and be away for such a long time really bothers her.
It's a slight imbalance in their dynamic. Momo loves Shamiko to an extreme degree, while Shamiko seemingly gets along with everyone. Momo just doesn't realize that Shamiko also has an immense focus on her.

@1412
Sakura's core fused with Shamiko, but she is not lost. The core slowly siphons a bit of Shamiko's mana everyday so Sakura can materialize again. This projection in the next chapter is actually made from the mana she gathered since Shamiko's awakening, so it took a few months. Sakura says she will be talking to Shamiko again once she gathered more energy. Considering Shami trains her mana capacity later, she should be able to have Sakura appear much faster.
The only issue is that if Sakura's core left Shamiko she would fall sick again and be at death's door. Until Shamiko is strong enough to survive on her own Sakura will not leave her body.

So much plot progress, I expected it would take longer for Shirosawa to spill the beans... Sakura's core should definitely be within Shamiko, the story flow strongly points there. After realizing that I imagine next would come trying to find the dispersed parts... Can Shamiko find a way to talk with Sakura? given that apparently she once talked with her.

Anyway, maybe I laughed a bit too much at Shirosawa's literal flight attempt... and Lico giving it an obvious pass. I'm finding that overreacting tapir quite funny.

@Madcat6204

Maybe the barrier that prevents demons and magical girls from meeting is still functioning and preventing her from being there. It perhaps would not work with Momo anymore since she already met them, or cause she crossed the barrier once already while Mikan did neither... Of course, maybe I'm overthinking, it shouldn't take long till we know more.

@chris_dftba

In chapter 25, Seiko said Shamiko barely made it thanks to Sakura tampering with the seal. There was also a mention of Joshua starting to help Sakura once they knew Shamiko was going to survive. Shamiko was without doubt at death's door...

Which is what gives it a whole new meaning once it's revealed the narrator is her father, and that he used to say "Ganbare!" to her all the time. Incidentally, this is also why translating "Ganbare!" as "Hang in there!/Don't give up!" fits better this story rather than "Give your best!" (as Ganbare kinda means all that)

@BugDemon

Given how tight are the foreshadows here, maybe Sakura fought the "Baphomet that lost it's heart" that Mikan imagined... which might also be related to the one her father summoned.

Mikan's father did not summon a Baphomet, that much I can say.
Though if Baphomet was the big evil, I don't think Mikan's one panel mention of just some random big monster really serves as foreshadowing.

Well, there are other offhanded "foreshadows" (or whatever word you wish to use if this one bothers you) like the tapir getting into an accident doing backflips like tamasakura.

Then again, if you've read ahead and already know then it's no fun at all. But I rather you don't make unspoilered corrections if that's the case.

The thing is Mikan just talked about a random monster. It's not like she mentioned an actual character. She spoke of Baphomet as an example which seems to be just a random type of demon. Really casual remarks do sometimes have pay-off, but not stupidly huge stuff like the main evil of the entire series.

Your assumption was so out there that it's not worth entertaining, so I shut it down. I can't even qualify this as a spoiler. That the demon inside Mikan's heart is not Baphomet gives you zero intel on what it actually is.

Fine, I'll take your word for it. However what I said was not an assumption but the mention of a possibility. There is a huge difference. (Unless by assumption you meant considering it a possibility)

@AllMikanLoversOutthere

Let's just say that thanks to her curse she doesn't mingle well with events full of hype like this chapter... The result could be very dangerous, Just as funny, but very dangerous...

Makes me want to send her some One Piece tankoubon right now...

Até mais ver
