Revolvers actually have less maintenance than semi-auto handguns; for the most part they only need the barrel cleaned and a drop or two of oil every once in a while, while a semi-auto needs a partial disassembly to clean properly. There's also a lot more that can fail on a semi-auto. The real clincher in this case though would be the ease of swapping individual bullets, since you don't need to unload an entire magazine to swap just one bullet, and there's no worry of losing the magazine in the process.
Also, a six-shooter wouldn't really be lacking in capacity compared to the 7-round capacity of the Desert Eagle being brandished.

What I found problem with is him saying he wants a double-action revolver and then describing the operation of a single-action.
Don't forget to check your timing during revolver maintenance, due to the natural gap around the cylinder the thing will slop over time when you use it. So you don't get shaving due to misalignment.

But it’s all manga magic, so there’s no need for logic and empirical science to enter the equation.

I also live in a country where:
1. All firearms are banned
2. All able-bodied males know how to operate, maintain and shoot accurately assault rifles to 300m.
Mandated military service?

Bro, tell me you picked a magnum. At least it looks cool. Still, why not an assault rifle with changeable attachments like a grenade launcher or sg?

Both Ashna and Caro are waifu, must protecc.

You can pull the hammer back on all double-action firearms and fire in single-action (unless you have a DAO or concealed hammer), so the description of the revolver isn't technically incorrect, merely lacking context. A proper, modern sidearm would be preferable even as a magically-operating wand analogue. The guns available these days are typically vastly superior in ergonomics and general comfort of carry - perfect for projecting a projectile effectively regardless of the mechanism.

The timing on most actions doesn't really change. If the timing is good from the factory then it's usually good for the life of the barrel unless something happens to bend or warp the frame, so long as you keep the gun oiled.

shotguns got one big problem.. reloading. it takes time and you need a safe spot to reload. Unless you got a special verison of shotgun?
SMG is a so-so weapon so far i know. it is easily outmatched by other firearms. and it uses ammo too quickly...
and i don't dare to think how dangerous it would be to use it in a small space. in videogames i do hate to use SMG unless i am forced to use it. it eats ammo too quickly for my taste.
There's actually a lot of shotguns the utilize magazines in stack and drum style with semi-auto function so racking a round is only an issue on the first shot. Given the god is only humoring the MC's desire for reloading since he told him the pistol could fire infinitely the shotgun would be the same. A shotgun would also open up the arsenal to include varying degrees shot (00, 0, buck) as well as fun rounds like sabot rounds, flechette (little steel darts), and dragon's breath incendiary rounds.

I'm not saying it would be the best addition to an arsenal but it would be fun. Personally I think an M4 style with collapsible stock and burst function would be a better option and more situation adaptable than the pistol or revolver could be.

I'm guessing this title is just a low priority for the publisher and/or the mangaka. The WN was completed in 2021 with 362 chapters so there is plenty of material.

Unless it is a JSDF manga, titles that involve gun style battles seem to be less frequent as compared to fantasy stories utilizing swords and magic (not counting mecha). Not sure if it is a cultural thing or if there is just an preference for escapism and guns are just too close to reality for the average manga reader to achieve said escapism. Let's be honest, there aren't a whole lot of salary-man leaving their job to join the military titles out there, but there are a ton of salary-man isekais.

Oh yeah, this thing. And I can actually remember enough I don't need to reread to find out these people are. Thanks for translating.

Does seem odd he wants a worse a gun without infinite capacity given this is for life and death situations. "At least I looked cool before I ran out of ammo and got stabbed through the chest."

so, you're swiss, ehh?
You can actually own guns in Switzerland, there’s a GunTuber named Bloke on the Range who does so.
Where I’m from, every guy has to do national service for two years, we use an Israeli/Swiss system where reservists are the first to fight.
