There’s always a slave. Why couldn’t they just create a companion from a local guild or something. It makes more sense than having a slave girl who probably has no combat experience and is probably malnourished become this guys faithful frontliner. I’m gunna give this a couple more chapters but the whole slave thing is getting stupid and repetitive.

So there's a Princess being chased by demon beast, also there are demon beast and orcs and shit, also the guy has a sniper rifle, also he's actually reincarnated, also he has infinite bullets and can silence his rifle even without subsonic bullets, also he met a god, also the Princess was fleeing from her uncles mercenaries, also her dad just gave the MC a ton of cash as recompense, also to shut him up, also slavery is legal, also a cute slave girl is waiting for our MC...

That fucking Mangaka just crammed 10 chapters worth of story in the first chapter... and it wasn't a typical "longer first chapter", but only 24 pages.

And please can someone explain to me how the butler came to this "just buy a slave" conclusion? The MC wants to get to know the city and region, so he just has to buy a slave that spent most of her life in a cage? Worst decision ever.

Here's my theory on isekai slaves. Isekai is already a wish fulfillment fantasy. particularly when the person enters the other world with some sort of cheat ability. Basically the reader wants to be the hero without having to work hard at it. then when they buy a slave, they basically just treat them like a normal person and the slave falls in love with them because they've never been treated like a normal person before. So basically the reader wants a cute animal girl to fall in love with them simply by treating them with the bare minimum of human decency.

There we go again. I've read a lot of manga and watched a lot of anime, but I've seen more thing about slavery in the last 2-3 years than in all the manga and anime in the last 33-35 years. Apart from some obscure borderline ecchi hentai, I don't even remember one(!) were they mentioned the act of buying a slave as casually as these recent iskeai or fantasy manga do.
If it occurred it was always with a bad aftertaste (Hokuto no Ken or Berserk) or setting appropriate (ancient Rome or ancient Greek or some planet, which took heavy inspiration from these times), but never, never happy go lucky.
