Wait. Did Lemon intervene because she afraid Shikimi would die?
I don't think so, she told EIGHT lies in total whilst being questioned and with quite a few obvious ones ranging from simply stating, "falsehoods", "delusional", or "unrelated" which for some were very obviously lies and would easily get caught by a prosecutor like lemon. It's likely she knew she wasn't activating her ability, which would explain why she brought it up at the end, or that she's stupid and can't tell the difference between a lie nor a truth which would make your statement correct.

Kiddo, surely you never had the luxury to see a lot variant of nipples, right? Go watch some adult films, around 100 should do. Don't limit yourself to only one genre or country of origin, go watch JAV, western, Thai, east Europe, middle East etc. No need to wank to any of them, you're in there for 'study'.

After you watch all of that go back to your comment and think to yourself, "Did the nipples are as hideous as I thought?".
Instead of becoming a degenerate porn addict you should have paid more attention in your English classes, "kiddo".

I feel we should have had more black lying speech bubbles? When the defense was calling her out on her power, she made a number of denials in white truth.
While I think I know which ones you mean, could you point them out? I'd like to recheck my translation again.

Judge should have adjourned the trial while a new prosecutor was appointed if it was a normal court of law. Normally, the moment someone else in the proceedings is potentially liable for a related crime, and the judge believes there is a potential (doesn't need to be absolutely proven yet) for it to be true, they shouldn't be able to continue the case. In fact, if it was a military trial (which could be said to be closer to what these magical girl trials are), an officer of the court would be obliged to arrest the newly accused into custody pending a further investigation.

Of course, we know this system has been put in place to rubberstamp convictions, so I guess there is no such provision here.

On another note this Mangaka is incredibly cultured. Among the many other things mentioned like Page 30, there's also how they used the black thought bubble with spikes to draw a certain part without drawing a certain part on page 16 LOL.

you can always tell someone has a winning argument when their rebuttal defaults to "your argument's invalid because your English is poor".

I dont know if telling someone to look at nipples of other countries to see what actually hideous nipples are is a good argument, but yeah... the guy can think these are hideous, who cares? My balls are hideous and i dont mind at all, let alone if i saw some in mangas.

Porn's very likely also a really inaccurate method to obtain any sort of realistic sample size across populations of any nation or region. I guess there's all the "amateur/homemade" stuff, but even then...there's gotta be a point of convergence where you're getting selection bias of some kind.

That also assumes there's an "objective aesthetic ideal" that would work for every person out there, which is just factually untrue, simply because no single trait would satisfy the tastes of some 8 billion people.

But that doesn't invalidate that simply rebutting "well you're bad at grammar so I win" is a not only a fallacy of an argument, but makes the person look childish, to boot.

What argument? Not everything is an argument.
Besides if it was an argument, it's also pretty funny how you entirely glossed over the "degenerate porn addict" part. Yknow, the actual thing people with winning arguments do, scapegoating a single point instead of addressing the original intent of the so-called argument.

Very fitting that you pretty much did the same thing. Do your parents know you're reading japanese smut in your free time, child?

I have to wonder what becomes of Shikimi now - surely her story isn't over, and I'm curious what (if any) precedent there is for "MG on MG crime" like this. I refuse to believe it's never happened before, especially since Wolfgirl was about to try and throw down against Lemon, herself, before all hell broke loose.
But Yuuri & Aoi pulled through, and Lemon has some begrudging respect for the Defense Attorney. And moreover, she showcases that--whatever weirdness of the setting and her part in it--she does have the best interests of "justice" constantly in mind, and seeks to do things "properly".

I wonder if she'll start turning the corner on seeing the System for its perverseness at this point; I suppose that would depend on whether the story itself intends to go that direction, and with that reveal about the more insidious nature of "defeated MGs" at the hands of monsters, I can't help but expect that things are going to move beyond the courtroom sooner or later and start involving the world at large.
The procedural nature of the story up to this point works for showing off various fetishes and sexual situations, of course, but we've gone far enough into other areas of the setting and its implications to simply step back into "the formula" up to this point. Aoi's continuous involvement as 'an outsider', Lemon's own defense trial, the reveal that MGs are not above attacking other MGs--even if seemingly for understandable reasons...all of that makes me think we're going deeper, and bigger, and [insert your favorite sexual scaling innuendo here].

Thanks for the TL, though. This is one of the weirder and more perverse titles I'm reading, but somehow the story's also among the more gripping and compelling.
This case may have been an elaborate set-up for a way to have someone else be the Defense Attorney next time around should it end up with Yuuri being on the stand or her being out of commission for some reason. It would be an interesting development for Tatemaki to take up this role as a sort of favor for the help she received from Yuri and Aoi.

On the other hand I think we wont be seeing Shikimi again soon. That said we have yet to see all the girls shown in chapter 1, one of them might be up next or a completely different MG.
