Gotta say despite how crazy the childhood friend is she continues to be the better girl in this series. Nothing better than putting a shitty tsundere in her place. Especially one who started this whole thing instead of just telling this guy no I'm not interested in you. She drags her brother in this for no reason other than her ego.

I think that if our protag wasn't so pathetic the childhood friend would never get this crazy. His sister would more or less have her tsundere nonsense called out and squashed. And the central conflict would be nonsensical gag at best. A minor plot point at worst.

Granted we'd have no garage dumpster fire story if the MC was more competent so 🤷‍♂️
