Silvia remains as adorable as ever here.

And of course there's fine print, no way they'd let it be that easy to just rank up through school events or there would be way more higher ranked staff. Hell, if he got to 6 he'd probably be the same rank or just barely under some of the teachers in the school.

This also explains a little bit as to why we had that whole little beach adventure, to introduce Mephisto into the story so he'd play a role here in king Iruma's founding... That being said, isn't it bad for a student to literally miss a month of schooling at the minimum? Even if it is for a rank up?
I feel like such a momentous event of achieving a rank beyond what's possible in school while still in said school warrants excusal. While the school does teach young demons about multiple different things, it's all for the sole purpose of preparing them to thrive in (and improve) the demon world. If the Scala Exam requires one to do something beneficial for the demon world, that falls in line with the school's main ideology.

TLDR it's an extracurricular lmao

So happy that Silvia, Marnie and Beem ranked up. They deserved it as the MVPs of the arc.

So happy the battler party was able to go without any danger happening.

Need approval from the 13 crowns to rank 6 and up. Makes sense. They have the biggest influences on the Nethetworld, so they should be the ones that decide who ranks up.

Forming his own country? Iruma really is on his way to becoming the next demon king.

I like that the crowd reactions matched the comments here about Iruma's situation.

Shame previous actions don't count. Iruma has done a lot of good for the netherworld. He saved the school from a bombing, saved civilians in the amusement park from a terrorist attack, and stopped a civil war between the Crowns and Three Families.

Personally... I kinda agree with this system.

The ranks in the netherworld are a little more than just a promotion system, they truly have an impact in its politics, so after a certain point... letting teachers decide the ranking could bring problems.

But... Mephisto is jumping a few steps in the story, isn't he? Amelie had to catch a criminal... he just dropped the work of a nation in the hands of a boy XD.

Anyway... the kids in that kindergarten are all from the same "race", which is certainly a hint about what he meant with "country".

Just call in his harem and he is off to a roaring start.
Well, seeing that next we know he's in a daycare, he did

Also, this fits with demon behavior already seen. You want power and position, you need to work your tail off to keep it. It's how the teachers evaluated the Misfits into opening the Royal One, earning the respect of all the teachers and staff mirrors needing a Crown's sign-off on high ranks, and then making them work to keep it by all being Daleth (4) before their second year, which is likely something one must do to maintain rank 6 or higher.

Now I wonder what great service was done by Kalego and Balam to achieve 8?

EIther they'll help iruma catch up once he gets back or a teacher goes with him to teach him while he's taking his test

Honestly, I think this is great. Kind of a perfect setup, all things considered - a LOT of us felt like Iruma ranking up to 6 just from overseeing the haunted house didn't feel right, but using that as a very direct segue into a much bigger situation that almost automatically puts all the necessary Demon King traits on display... it's super smart and a really fun premise. Banger arc after banger arc.

So remember a few volumes back that Iruma wanted to be a leader like some of the teachers at Bablys. I guess it turns out that he’s going to be interacting with them a lot more with needing to be a preschool teacher. Forget just trying to make it as a demon, he’s going out as a teacher to the next generation.
