"How dare those many-ears want independence, don't they know how much we depend on them"
Are you hearing yourself you massive moron, what is the rule about 13 crowns meddling in other 13 crowns business, because right now you are messing with at least 3.

What's the rank of the fang platoon leader though? One way I could see this going is Iruma being promoted by Mephisto on the spot and then outranking these guys to turn the whole "high rank rule over the low rank" theme around but that's probably impossible.

How much more blatant does the guy have to be to be proven as a member of the evil organization? He quite literally just sent the gestapo down to crush a bunch of farmers and force them back into what is basically slavery.

I wonder how Mephisto will react to this situation, let alone if Iruma and his allies will actually come to blows with this Fang group. These guys already are openly attacking children and old people, let alone inadvertently attacking Iruma, so I'll be shocked if they don't try to fight somehow unless the power difference is truly that one-sided.

Edit: Now that I think about it, this is also going to piss off Asmodeus' family to a rather extreme degree since it would directly put them against her newfound ambitions with the restaurant and carrot deal. So we have at least one, if not two, of the 13 crowns that are invested in the same ground this guy just laid claim to.

Sigh Why can't the many-ears just do both? Not all of them are going to want to farm, so I don't see a problem?

I guess we wouldn't have a story if it was that easy though.
A society which is based on strict hierarchies don’t like it when people want to escape them.

Luckily that never happens in real life! (Looks at Tusla, Oklahoma on May 31, 1921)
