Well, they are demon. Demon system is pretty simple, the strong will rule. The fact that they evolve to avoid dark phase and become less aggressive is pretty impressive. Sometimes I wonder it's because their environment become less dangerous that they don't need to rely on being wild as well.

It was literally stated that the demon king is the netherworld. If the demon king wants a change to happen, the only question is 'when', not 'if'.

Since Delkira was a pacifist, the demons didn't have a 'choice' of becoming less violent. They just became less violent. It's as simple as that.

The reason why the 'return to origins' demons appeared is only because Delkira stopped influencing the netherworld. If not for that, they could not appear. It's as simple as that.
