I'm following things so far, just some bits I'm missing:

• MC mentioned that this epidemic occured randomly (both place wise of time wise) since years ago, so is this a known thing to the royalty in the capital? Surely it's known since they have inquisitors and gas helmets, but why royalty handling this outbreak like amateurs by refusing to send any support?
• I'm confused why the church squad no longer wants to purge the Akines villagers to prevent infection. As the captain said, there's no way to prove that the villagers arent infected. Surely he wasnt just satisfied seeing the Akines refugees healthy and fit?

Once again, an awesome fight!
I continue to be impressed with not only Ag's strength and ferocity, but also his cleverness.
I also continue to be impressed with the use of magic in this world. A blade-boomerang that launches off that ring sword is pretty cool.

That said, I do wish the manga would devote a couple extra panels to show exactly what's going on. The first time the Inquisitor used Gale, I thought it was just a wind slash. On the second I understood that he was in fact launching a part of his sword, which I thought was the whole ring. Then when he rushed Ag with his sword, I saw that the ring was missing a piece and that's when it all came together for me.
So yeah, great manga, but I occasionally feel like there are moments between panels that are missing, that would help flesh out exactly what's happening.

1- His doubt is the same as the protagonist's, so he longs for contact with the capital in search of resources and perhaps, some enlightenment.

2- Because there is no real "disease", but a very powerful "curse" as Setia had said. Apparently, the church does not know how to fight it and the curse is not common knowledge, so they say it is a "disease" and limit the information that spreads to prevent panic and disbelief in the nobles and in the church itself (this is what i have understood so far, as part of the translation was done by machines, some information may have been lost)~

1- Well... disease containment isn't exactly an exact science, yes certain procedures are obvious but even then... things can go sour quickly. We don't know the political landscape of this "nation", if it is a unified nation even, and we can infer from many of the things shown here that their technological level isn't bad for the age shown, they have magic too, but i think disease control is still difficult (even in our time it still is... because of stupid too), so... not exactly strange that royalty would decide that harsh measures are justified.

2- Yeah, kinda confusing a little, but I think that after being defeated so thoroughly they decided that the best option was to plant some level of misinformation (Ag and Gria noticed it but thought it was fine), but they are the equivalent of a black ops squad, so to speak, after such a defeat their orders must demand they kill themselves... wouldn't put pass in a society like this, that their higher-ups say they would kill their families if they fail "disposing" of themselves.

But I can agree that the pace of events was strange, I think it is less about us not getting things and more the author fumbling a little.

I'll try to explain, though I'm not exactly confident I understand it all either. This manga likes to play with expectations and mystery, so it mentions lots of things/people that are explained/introduced chapters later and creates lots of confusion when trying to translate ambiguous terms.

The epidemic happened only once several years ago (it was the curse of the witch) and it was terrible so it's natural for people and royalty to be terrified of it starting again. In a rather medieval society, with no medical research or human rights, it's not surprising they decided to "amputate" the infected area.
Gas helmets seem to be normal to avoid fainting in the forest, since apparently Setia's presence affected humans like that as mentioned by Agredios in chapter 01. And Krunig mentions inquisitors chased heretics (most likely, whoever went against the church) so they are not exactly a unit dedicated to contain the epidemic, they were just sent to do the dirty work of eliminating all survivors.
Regarding the squad, it's not like they don't want to complete their mission. It's just that they've realized it's impossible with Agredios nearby and them being wounded after the fight.

Some details I wanted to mention regarding the story:
There was a legend, as shown in the first chapter, about a witch living in a forest and cursing the people of a nearby town only to be killed by the king's knights. Agredios recently explained this curse to be an undetectable epidemic that got to the capital via immigration and killed lots of people.
According to Agredios, that town of legend was granted to his ancestors by the king, and his family has been managing the land for generations. This land is called the 辺境伯領 ("margrave fief", or frontier/borderlands) perhaps because it's limiting with the forbidden forest or maybe it truly is the kingdom's border. People living there are called 開拓団 ("reclamation/development group") and Agredios mentions his family "carving the sea" so perhaps their work was more than just managing and involved restoration of some kind.
I'm not sure if people from town knew that a witch lived in the forest (people from Akines at least didn't), maybe only the margrave's family did (Agredios had a map with a marked area where they believed her to reside).

Setia mentioned on chapter 01 the curse would:

• Distort the death (as seen by the villagers dying but not decaying)
• Corrode the land (maybe the rampaging beasts?)
• Deteriorate the water (soon, chapter 14)
• Stagnate the wind
• Contaminate trees, grass and flowers

So we are halfway there!

And a fun fact: Tauros had hands (ch05) before getting hooves.

A lot of the earlier translations were pretty scuffed and the more recent translations by Pochs are much better but there is still the odd grammatical error that makes me wonder if something is being lost in translation. Like when somebody said "our lacks as nobles." I get the idea - it's the qualities of nobles that they're missing, IE, what they're lacking. I do appreciate his summary above, though, and brother, if you ever want somebody to proofread you, I'd be happy to volunteer.

I actually bought english translation of the first volume on amazon and I don't regret it. There's just a lot of moving parts in the plot, a lot of political stuff - basically a lot of complex plot elements that might be confusing to translate, or subtle implications buried in the dialogue. The official translation nailed a lot of that down and was super helpful.
