This chapter is the one that finally sold me on this series, and I'm glad it's gotten such a nice reception now that a translation is available.
I was wondering how they were going to translate the botched confession. I'm a bit disappointed but honestly I can't figure out how I'd have done it myself.
I was thinking it could be rewritten as a roundabout confession:
"Why were you discussing about me?"
"...it was love advice!" (implying she likes him, but Ei-kun understands Kimura's the one asking for advice)
The problem of course would be that such a roundabout confession would shift the blame entirely on Kawashima for being too unclear, when in Japanese she was rather explicit and it is Ei-kun's interpretation that's too roundabout instead.
In any case, I'm really enjoying this series so far. The comparison with gamers was unexpected but honestly fitting, I do hope misunderstandings keep piling up. As I mentioned in one of the previous chapters' threads, both of the guys are extremely dense except for the fact that Kimura is genre savvy regarding romcoms, and Kawashima seems to be the only non-dense character but she's completely unaware of romcom tropes, so it's a good set up to keep piling up misunderstandings.
