I think I'm cursed, I was reading here when the purge happened and also using Aniwave when it got shut down.
with crypto around, no one will be able to track anything
No one going to do something like to trace down a group of scanlators, specifically because they need people to think it's "untraceable".
You're aware that many cryptocurrencies record every single transaction in what amounts to a public ledger, right? Cryptocurrency may, in and of itself, be anonymous, but it's certainly not untraceable.
There are people who spend impossible amounts of time doing all kinds of dumb shit for grins, and I wouldn't put it past someone to do this. And I wouldn't put it past a law enforcement agency somewhere deciding to sink their teeth into this because some agent gets a hard-on for chasing it. Not saying either is likely, but certainly not outside the realm of possibility - stranger things have happened. (See Clifford Stoll's The Cuckoo's Egg for a prime example.)No one going to do something like to trace down a group of scanlators, specifically because they need people to think it's "untraceable".
mate, US law enforcement knows russian scammers using crypto by their full names the reasons they could not do shit though are very different from "oh god they using crypto it's untraceable!"No one going to do something like to trace down a group of scanlators, specifically because they need people to think it's "untraceable".
Never underestimate the capabilities of a group of properly motivated and slightly pissed off technical personnel.so yeah, if there will be an incentive - everything on the internet can be nuked and or blocked
Talk about a stretch, not even Mister Fatastic can stretch that far.https://forums.mangadex.org/threads/banning-the-upload-of-infant-abuse.1980882/page-3#post-23821671
I won't say mangadex got targeted because of this, but I will say it contributed to make the website too high profile. Hosting underage porn could become the next attack vector to swarm the admins with more legal clusterfuck.
You jumped so hard to clutch on the definition of "underage porn" to give yourself good conscience, that you're just going to ignore that I'm purely talking about how it works for the "official" side of things. Copyright holders don't give a shit about your argument or that it's not real humans, they just want to shut down the redistribution of their intellectual property. If there is a law that they can interpret in some way + some connections with law enforcement, they will use it.Talk about a stretch, not even Mister Fatastic can stretch that far.

Don't be ridiculous, it have anything to do with the DMCA, the target aren't these niche hentai but the regular titles, 100% of removals were not hentai related.https://forums.mangadex.org/threads/banning-the-upload-of-infant-abuse.1980882/page-3#post-23821671

Good job completely missing the point and pulling assumptions out of your assYou jumped so hard to clutch on the definition of "underage porn" to give yourself good conscience, that you're just going to ignore that I'm purely talking about how it works for the "official" side of things. People who dislike loli, shota and so on just can't help but get triggered by it, if they really cared about children they would go help real children, but that takes actual work and effort, it's just easier to whine about hentai and pat themselves in the back for being morally superiorIf hentai bother you so much, just hide them in the settings, but i guess you want them removed for everyone cause you personally do not like them, oh, and moreover, ficional characters and drawings do not have human rights in 95% of the countries so they will never are a legal issue.
ok, In russia it is. by law. period. have images of lolis doing questionable thing - hoarder of CP, get to prison!Talk about a stretch, not even Mister Fatastic can stretch that far.

To be fair russia has a lot of stupid and absurd laws lolok, In russia it is. by law. period. have images of lolis doing questionable thing - hoarder of CP, get to prison!
I honestly have my doubts about US laws changing, many tried making it illegal one way or another but failed for basically due to freedom of speech and expression(and honestly with current admin in USA it can be treated the same way by legislature in future where too, and suddenly half the internet must comply)

I do not think is your business what MD admins allow or not, they are aware and give you the option to hide hentai and you complain anyway because in the end you want a ban for everyone because you have a grudge against a certain subgenre. DMCA is just an excuse. If you have issues in your country then enable the optiona and you are fine. Russia or whatever is not the whole world and in majority of the countries drawings do not have human rights, is a trivial thing.ok, In russia it is. by law. period. have images of lolis doing questionable thing - hoarder of CP, get to prison!

Yuuuup, I understand disliking the genre, honestly, it's perfectly understandable and I can't argue on that, but avoiding it isn't enough, they want it gone out of principle. Is sad that they use the DMCA as excuse to attacj ehat they do not like even if they have the option to hide such content, these people want to enforce their view to everyone and ban what that they do not like for all. Is sad to reas such thing here on a manga community, expecially on mangadex that is the most complete "aggregator" with every genre covered.
Yep, they ask the ban for principle, because they think that no one should read them, lol. After 30 years i'm into anime and manga and read every kind of genre i never read once that someone from fiction emulate it into reality.Yuuuup, I understand disliking the genre, honestly, it's perfectly understandable and I can't argue on that, but avoiding it isn't enough, they want it gone out of principle.
They remind me of people who wants gay content removed because of the children, or that violent videogames are bad, all they have is appeal to emotion, no actual arguments or facts
