The mangaka might be afraid of catching up with the long-completed webnovel which had a crappy ending -- I think the author just gave up on the story and wanted it done with. Saying that the manga storyline has diverged somewhat from the webnovel in places.

1.) I'm always amazed when this finally gets an update. Is there any clue as to why the mangaka on this series seems to be releasing like a chapter a year at this rate?
2.) I shat on this manga before some of the... wonky as fuck perspectives, bad anatomy/proportions (like how the male MC looked like he had tits for the longest time yet the mangaka also drew absolutely amazing Crysis suit-esque armor at the same time...), but... Jesus Christ, this panel must've taken forever to draw.

at some points they did- the "characters" the MC has access to act like literal characters, so the one the MC got here with was a woman, just like the shaft character is a massive dude
