What's hard to understand in this scenario? Some elders of the sect wanted to steal from the MC. MC managed to survive and became strengthened from the Wind Eye. Now he wants the other heritage, the Thunder Eye. Doing this will ruin the sect since the sect depends on these 2 eyes. The other guy that dragged the MC into the Thunder Eye and stopped the sect master probably comes from a rival sect and wants to ruin this sect since it's common for different sects to compete and be antagonistic towards each other.
