so he cant use magic except he actually secretly can bro what's the point. They were talking about how he makes magical devices so i was kind of expecting him to whip out some doohickeys to fight but nah he can just absorb all magic and also throw it back because why not i guess

not too big of a fan how op main character is. way too many stories do this same thing where they establish mc to have some big disadvantage only to almost immediatly make them ridiculously overpowered and effectively ignore any weakness they may technically have. is it too much to ask for characters to have proper weaknesses.
they could even have made it so that he is actually weak in combat but his theoretical knowledge makes him still useful but no we get another op wishfulfilment mc
