In my opinion, the bait and switch Yoshino thing should have happened earlier. I mean imo it makes sense that in the end he truly loved Aki. I think some didn't like her because her personality isn't the greatest. And an argument could be made for Yoshino since he spent all that time with her planning his "revenge", but overall it makes more sense for Aki considering how the story went.

After having read Koisuru Metronome's 46th chapter and remembering what happened with Oreimo, I can't help but wonder if there was some kind of executive meddling in place here, be it one way or another; that whole bait-n-switch-n-swap was done far too poorly for either side and, honestly, smells of axe.
A++ trolling, brilliant ending, bait and switch masterclass. I'm not even mad in the slightest.

I feel like this manga spends too much time in the love drama and too little time in making the characters likeable by having them interact, hang out, have fun with school life experiences, and generally be themselves in non-romantic contexts. Need more Persona links and less visual novel romance options A B C.

Wait, What??? I'm confused @_@
I shipped AkixMasamune really hard (can't help it, she is a tsundere, his first love and childhood friend : triple win) and was disappointed with the turn of events in recent chapters. But this ending, the way the last chapters lead to this feels unrealistic,illogical and too rushed. It's as if the mangaka was forced to make this pairing win in the end. He should've at least developed it more.

Most likely the author has Aki as her self insert. It's the only way to explain how she got away with being as unlikable as she was in the early chapters. She realizes that oh, surprise not even masochists enjoy having their feelings trampled into the ground, so author tries to show Aki on a more innocent light, and put a flashback of her as a kid. Except she was as annoying and bratty even back then, so the author tries to blame her awful behavior on Yoshino despite her calling him piggy was perfectly in character for the Aki of back then. Author gets more annoyed at some people daring to like maid or Neko over her self insert so she boycotts them both instead of trying to make Aki less of a ... y'know.
But alas, the manga is ending and fans are saying that the end was predictable and the series cliched, so she plans the last bait and switch. To add insult to injury, she uses Yoshino and Neko again to pull out a 180° personality change out of freaking nowhere in the last minute instead of developing her.
Was Aki developed as a character? No. Did she ever understand that maybe, just maybe she should have felt bad about the people she trampled over the last years? No. Did she have to fight for her love? No. Everything from the beginning was given to her on a silver platter and that never changed even once when this trainwreck of a manga ended. This is Infinite Stratos all over again, just that this time Tiv served well in distracting us from the awful writing. No wonder everyone is angry.

Let's be honest. It had a nice story and settings with nice climaxes, except the syndrome asspull in the last revealing arc. Furthermore, beito meido's winning was always on the wrong logic, since he should have been angry over the meido in ojou-sama's stead as soon as he grasped the truth.
