True, I guess the mother did freak out back then. The daughter did manage to kill that guy during a high stress situation, and later on heal her mom. I guess she's just better at stress management

Mostly because of paranoia, if it's justified or not in this world is yet to be explored. In the real world we discriminate and even right out genocide other people for lot less serious stuff like skin color, religion, etc. Imagine if we had individuals that are essentially immortal and can use powerful magic that can easily kill with a flick of a hand.

Same theme in AoT, there were always that paranoia of the Titan power even when the power was gone.

It may. Magic doesn’t seem physically taxing.

And yes, you can stay calm in an emergency situation. But you're usually either desensitized, heavily trained for it, or you're dissociating.

Well... The first isn’t ideal. The second is hard to achieve. But the third can be achieved by what would be child abuse in literally any other situation! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
