Again, I dont really see the romance in their relationship. Hiro found her attractive but annoying and her Nobility a complete nonstarter for most of those volumes, somewhat of a friend for less then a volume, and then begrudgingly a fiance at literal gunpoint after "saving her life" with sex. So I don't even see it the end result as anticlimactic, just the inevitable result of her being in Hiro's orbit.

But, my guess is she's either 1. Princess or other high ranking person secretly "hiding out", or 2. (and this one I suspect more) is that she's an imperial princess or something equivalent, but doesn't know it because her parents went and decided to slum it because one of her parents married "below her station", but didn't tell anyone. Though, if she was actually an Imperial Princess in disguise [and not like a lost relative], then it's SUUUUPER funny in that "Oh, SHIT! Maybe translator or author didn't know about that because they haven't sufficiently played Star Ocean games, which would automatically have taught them the difference in the interactive encyclopedia section? LOL!

I admit to having to look this one up. =P I'd never heard of Elite Dangerous. Actually, never heard of the Elite franchise in general. Heh. Go figure? That said, that's genuinely hilarious given the scope. So, either they are super fans, and the translation team dropped the ball epically, OR, author needs to make some "adjustments". [sinister cackle]
