Love that we got to know more about Seto this chapter, he's such an interesting character! Really cool that he can't actually see ghosts, but only hear them. Still wonder how exactly he got that scar on his hand and why he can exorcise ghosts with it, but that's probably for later in the story.

A bunch of other thoughts that popped into my head:
-Since he knows Mitsue (glad she's being mentioned again btw), how does she feel about his attitude towards ghosts? She's always been focused on helping ghosts move on peacefully rather than exorcising them like he does, so I doubt she agrees with his methods

-Are his hat ghosts actually trustworthy? We know they tell him stuff, but we have no idea what their intentions are - they could very well be telling him that certain spirits are more dangerous than they actually are (like the child ghost from Chapter 57). There's no evidence for this, I just think it's an interesting thought, considering how reliant he is on those spirits.

-Is he actually going to be an ally for Miko? Don't get me wrong, he definitely wants to help her, but that is most definitely going to involve exorcising her father or Michirus spirit, which would both go directly against what Miko would want. I'm a bit worried about the lengths he'd be willing to go to in order to, in his eyes, aid/protect her.
Don't forget that Romm, someone who has known Seto since he was a child, was too scared that Seto was going to do something to him to meet with him alone. Shows that that ruthless attitude of his might not be exclusive to ghosts,,,

That being said, even if I don't trust him, I like Seto! He's a very interesting character and I can't wait to see more of him! Hope he'll actually be able to handle the middle-aged man ghost, but I have a feeling that might not go tha
t smoothly

My personal view of what he is saying.. is somewhat like a Spock-ism

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"

He is on the side of PEOPLE not a PERSON. He would sacrifice a person, if it would save people as a whole. She is special, he knows she is special. The seal was broken and that giant monster? I guess got out.

Also remember, when they went to the mountain, they broke the seal. The seal looks like a sacrifice, so you would have to sacrifice a relatively powerful medium and so far in the series, Miko is the strongest medium (although she doesn't know how to fight them, but thats cause she was never taught). He might be thinking he has to sacrifice her to lock the giant monster.

Time will tell, but that is my guess.

Interesting. So Seto can hear them. Now it makes me realize something. Miko can see AND hear them. I wonder for Rom and Mitsue's case they can only see. I really hope we get to know who Miko really is. She's probably THE MOST powerful medium but just doesn't know what to do.

Maybe it was because he translated from the Portuguese version, which has a lot of mistakes (they don't know Japanese, so they used Google Translate). And I don’t think Fairy Knight abandoned the translation; if you look at their group, there were only two people, and they translate a lot of manga.

Looks like they only translate Mieruko-chan, and their last update was 2 months ago. Well hopefully they're around to continue. Too often poor translations ruin a good manga, and poor translations make a mid manga unbearable.

If that "in the side of people" is a translation for ningen or hito, then maybe Miko is a youkai or something.

That reminded me of Flying Witch, I think some characters that seemed human but were youkai descendants that basically lived like regular people.

Either way, I want Miko to take a more active rol.

It's a translation of hito, which is why I used people instead of human. But I think the implication is, like some people pointed out, is that he thinks Miko, Rom and Mitsue are naive, and that he's probably referring that he'll kill Miko's dad, which we know he's probably aware of due to his stake out in a previous chapter.

I used the Japanese raws since it's readily available and when I started translating the chapter the Portuguese one hadn't come out. My translation are rough because I'm still learning Japanese, I'm only fully fluent in English and Spanish which I guess doesn't it make it that much better. I again apologize for the Issues and will try my best to improve.

I like the way that hat man ghosts eat, they can't touch the food physically but they eat the essence of it, enjoy the feel and kindness of the person who offered food.

It's like in East Asian culture we cook food and offer to our ancestors in special days.
