I'm very interested about the old woman/plain man. It seems they have been after the mother's family since she was young. I'm guessing the old man is the stronger version of sight since the idea is that would be something you would be more comfortable talking to which will get you whereas the woman was a horror you knew to avoid.

From what I understand, it is explained - in very basic terms - that if your brain can't comprehend what it is seeing, it will warp it into a more familiar shape.
It makes me think of scenes where god-like characters change their shape to one that the main character will be more familiar and comfortable with, like the image of a dead family member the main character was close with.

It's cute how Miko got her poker face (against ghosts) from her father.

The thing is that monster-like Francois is how mieruko sees it. Her dad saw Francois like a dog also he saw the reaper as a old woman. Mieruko sees the reaper as simple old man. Which ROM was surprised to know how differently he saw it too.

We know the Blondie girl see some of the things and most the strong ones she can't see. So mieruko can see them at a very detailed form because she has strong spiritual power. As she sees her father how he used to be as a living being then it's almost certain she sees their true spiritual form imo. And the others who can see them only a fraction of their appearance that's why so different xD.

Again, I disagree. Her dad sees it as a regular scary ghost. But Miko sees the scythe. It means she sees its real nature as a shinigami. Her dad can't see that but she can.

In support of this, so far in this manga Miko can see the ghosts in the highest "image quality" among all the ones who can see them. That's why she mistook the kid ghost from long ago as a real kid, because its appearance to Miko is of the highest quality possible, i.e. like a real human.

Someone like Yuria can only see the mirages/outlines of the ghosts while Rom sees them overlaid with the background, indicating that his vision is less clear than Miko's.

Back to the matter of Mikodad, I believe Miko has a stronger vision than her dad since generic old lady dog monster is definitely not as high quality as a hyper-realistic old man with a sickle.

I was incredibly busy with real life stuff and general health for a while there, but I was working on the chapter when I could (which admittedly was not a lot). Since I think I've grown too busy to keep doing entire chapters on my own, I was going to make a statement after this chapter, stating that I'd like to either recruit people for a group or hand the project off.

When HttpsSick translated the chapter, I offered to proofread and translate SFX, but after they uploaded it like this I got a few dms asking me to come back to the series myself, so I was just gonna lock in for a day or two and try to get my translation out.
But if @ocvampirecreeg wants to take over translating, I'd be more than fine with that! Their translation looks really good and again, I'd been planning to hand the project off for a while anyways.
And I don't see a reason to upload a third version of the chapter, so I'll keep my version to myself haha


But since that means I won't get to make a public statement, I'll just say here that I've had a good time translating the few chapters I did! But like, I started translating when I was still in school of sorts? And now I work fulltime, got a bunch of new hobbies, hang out with my friends more and started seeing someone. So I think I'm moving on from this, even if it's been fun! Thank you guys for reading my chapters and good luck to the new team!! <33

Just make sure that the person you're seeing is real and not a ghost or you'll have to get saved by the shrine maidens like Miko!
