I don't understand what I'm looking at in the first panel of p36. Why are there four MiB bodyguards again ? The one called Reita is gone (dead for real?) and some unassuming middle-aged guy is trying to disguise himself as him alright? But the chapter went out of its way to point out there are only three bodyguards left. And then with no explanation, they're back to four again ?

There is another man in black called Fujioka. He’s usually seen with Seto. He wasn’t part of the four guards that follow Miko around.

Uh, you're totally right. Completely forgotten about that.

Well, in my defence most of the other panels of ch. 61 don't show the five of them. And the Seto introduction in 57 or the dinner encounter in 66 only ever show four of them at the same time. Also, that chapter 61 is 20 months old. Monthly manga are tough…

There was always 5 M.I.B. As seen at the end of chapter 70.2 Seto just delegated 4 of them to guard duty for Miko while retaining Fujioka-san as an overseer to report back to him if anything happened (which it unfortunately did when Reida-san got got leaving 3 remaining to protect Miko before Seto arrived with Fujioka-san to help).

A wonderful chapter filled with both humor in the beginning alongside careful preparations of the key characters to nurture tension setting up the struggle ahead that was capped off with the ambush of Miko and her grief-stricken surprise that Reida-san is gone. Thanks for the TL.

This chapter is so heavy. Rom and Mitsue gearing up for a final battle. Mitsue preparing sacrificial dolls is concerning. I hope it's not transferring damage to Mitsue or something similar.
Also, RIP Reida-san. The bodyguards were so jolly when they opened up to Miko. Reida-san's death just showed them the reality of the threat. Not even doggo can get a stir out of them.

I am not sure if it was intentional but the Dead Tree behind the "Old Man" really gives me a vibe that this thing is like Death or something like that, all the other trees in other pannels were full of leaves except that one!
It feels like it is even drawn in a different style to make it look even more "dead".
Maybe this evil spirit or whatever has actually a decay/death aura or absorbs life energy or something like that.

Man and with everyone showing up I am Really excited to see where this is going!

Damn I'm getting goosebumps reading that chapter... This old man is so much simple but also so much creepy, the author is reaaaaally good to make horror.

I hope not too much bad things will happen to our loved characters and especially Miko's dad. I can feel it, dad will sacrifice his soul for his beloved daugther and disapear after talking to his daugther one last time... I'll cry if author does that...

These dolls are more like protection, they will take the damages instead of Miko I think. The opposite would be weird since they want to help her...

I wouldn't mind a bit of shounen tropes for this manga going forward, It would help Miko a lot to get some shounen abilities like barriers or something.

The manga isn't even about horror, is more like suspense, and in that case, a bit of superpowers would feel out of place.

Michiru already has a sort of superpower, she doesn't know that, but she has a passive offensive ability XD

I still wonder why Shiro is a "dog" despite being a cat. It wasn't explained before either.

My theory is either this is an unrelated spirit who so happened to grow attached, or Shiro morphed into a dog to be a better guard
