Zen's Mom looks ghoulish as hell in that flashback and she wasn't even dead.
I kept screaming at Miko to turn back as she tailed Zen, and now I don't know what's happening.

Ok I see where this might go.
So when he was younger he was mentally abused by his mother because father left mother. The guy basically had no freedom. Some time he probably befriends a cat in some way. Mom probably finds out somehow and kills the cat to teach him a lesson or makes him kill the cat. Either his mom is still inside his head in his own delusion telling him to kill cats or the ghost monster of his mom which is beside him is killing the cats and becoming a part of the mom that’s why it follows him around. Or he could just be a murdering jerk bag.

I hope the cat's safe. The teacher probably has his reasons/we haven't been told his whole story yet so hopefully he just gets bedridden at the hospital and we find out.

I think the teacher is all messed up inside from the gaslighting and god knows what other trauma he endured, I'm thinking there's going to be a twist somehow to the story behind all the dead ghost cats for better or worse

I'm hoping it's something like, the ghost cats was his cats that he adopted, and later his mom found out and disposed of the cats to teach him a lesson, after his mom died he made it his mission to save cats as an act of rebelling against his mom. But her ghost keeps cursing every cat he tries to save.

Whatever the twist is I hope it's a good one
