In Japan, there ARE stories about “living ghosts”. They don’t see the soul as a single “unit”, but more like… you could say, like a “fluid”? So in some cases, it’s possible that part of your soul “leak” from you, and form a living ghost. Often a vengeful one, but other cases exists too, like jealousy, over protectiveness, or obsession.

basically, Michi could have been haunted by… herself… for a while, and it might even be young Michi that is the source of many problems, even Aisawa’s death… Maybe she was obsessed with Aizawa and her living ghost killed her to bind her to Michi… A lot of different possibilities! O-O

But yeah. In Japanese folklore, you don’t need to die to produce a ghost.
That's pretty interesting. So sort of like a living conscience maybe? Which might relate to her getting that mini panic attack from her remembering something that was hidden away in her conscience

This story is so much better than I expected. Really want to know how Michi ended up with a younger ghost version of her self.

Ok. Is it just me or the lil ghost girl looks exactly like a young Michi? Like, the ghost is wearing the same dress young Michi was in her dream went she went around the school with Honami (ch6). The author also made sure to highlight Michi used pigtails (ch5). Plus, no one called Michi nickname in front of Karasuma but she knew and called her Michi-chan. Was she referring to the ghost?
What is going on?
