Another thing worth mentioning is that Masaki got interested about Michi from seeing her photo. Usually any photo with Michi turns out to be a “spirit photo” but strangely, this one didn’t. It was explained at the time that Aizawa had pulled away out of shot, but could there have been something in it that Masaki saw but Michi didn’t? Like the shadow behind Ange in the concert footage.

That's a good point. Michi's spirit photos keep coming up without payoff so it should lead somewhere. Playing devil's advocate, it could have been re-establishing the concept for Ange's spirit photo later in the volume. But you're right Michi's vision must not be perfect. If her mom is a ghost, she should have seen her. And she doesn't see Mizu with Ange most of the time. It could be that powerful ghosts have a stealth mode, or they're just hidden while possessing someone, whether actively or monkeying on their back.

Spoiler: minor spoiler for ch26

Part of Michi's spirit sight is definitely sealed off.

Ghosts possessing ghosts would be wild. There's a lot waiting to be explored with possession.
