Chapter 6. It wasn't shown in detail, but someone was jealous of her or annoyed by her because she was always upbeat and smiling. The panels only show reactions of people, an empty chemistry glass and Mikoto's eye being hit.

Chapter 6 or 7 has the incident itself. They don't expressly state it was an attack, but the way people in the story act about the incident strongly suggests it was not a simple accident. No one who knows her from before she was injured acts like it was just bad luck someone tripped and spilled the beaker on Mikoto's face.

Her mom's outburst in chapter 10 in particular VERY strongly implies it was an escalation of an ongoing problem. "Why didn't you tell me before it got this bad?" is not what you say to someone who had an unexpected accident.

I mean, what she NEEDS is therapy. Hardcore hugging and raw unprotected handholding is great, but it will only go so far. Girl has legit problems she needs help working through, and no one is acknowledging them.

I LOVE running across a new chapter with zero comments during my lunch break at my job, and not being able to make the first comment.

I LOVE that I have to wait for someone's permission before I can create a chapter comment thread like the good little boy that I am.

This "bug" is great and will definitely inspire more people to support MangaDex, thanks MangaDex devs!

Good job devs with the lack of testing, or even considering the option of rolling back the changes so people like me are less annoyed. Free users are (possible) future supporters after all, and we LOVE being treated like this!

I wish there was a button/option to block/hide the new comments. Maybe if enough people would block/ignore the new shitty thing, and click on stuff to reach the forums - the devs would open their damn eyes and give us back proper working buttons letting us go to forums.

Cause this shit opening chapters and insta marking them as read, including shit that asks you to go to external site just to open an empty asking to pay to have access panel, just to click on a button there to get to forums is just a bad taste, a bad UI/UX, a lame way to force a change on something that worked fine before. All they needed to do was add this new panel and it loading latest comments from threads, allowing people to easily read them, and go to forum to write them, or post in simplified version without all the formatting option in the panel itself. Just keep the buttons opening forum not the damn chapter with panel invoked - excuses that you shouldn't comment without reading chapter first don't work here - cause a) there are often multiple groups and I don't read same chapter from all of them - so I want to keep my seens statuses clean, but still have easy way to go and read/write comments, and b) maybe I want to wait till a bunch of chapters were released to batch read them at once, but I want to comment in the mean time - this new system opening panel in chapter and insta marking it read just makes people do to much work just to read a damn forum/comments.

I can live with the whole having to click one more time to get to the real comments, and honestly, seeing the UI evolve and get meeker in real time cracks me up, but I was really annoyed by the impossibility to create a new comment thread myself. Like, on recent English chapters, there’s always gonna be a supporter coming by eventually, but what do I do when I want to comment on a chapter in a rarer language, or on old chapters from back when comments weren’t available anymore?

Yeah, good points on the rarer language... on a similar note, mangas that aren't that popular (so it has zero comments), but you just seem to like it for some reason. Good luck getting a supporter to comment first on those.
