Single character postings contribute nothing to the actual discussion of a series or chapter and are a waste of resources. There's a certain recent comment section where 30% of the 140+ comments are a single character. That's over 2 whole pages of nothing but single character comments.

That's good in theory but in practice it wouldn't work. Minimum number of 100 makes no sence because in many case you don't need that much for comment. Most reasonable number is about 10 or 20. But then comment like
Will turn in to
A
19 extra characters
What the difference?

IMO second one is much worse :/

For about a week maybe. After everyone got accustomed to how much you have to type extra - no one gives a fuck about that limit.

At least if it just one letter, it makes it pretty easy to see who actually has a comment that may be worth spending your time on.

Well, that's very true but's still annoying to have to drudge through page after page of idiotic "meme chain" posts to find something even considering worth reading.

@FredFriendly Well, true, but at the same time, only a crazy person will wade through pages of single letter comments. :D

Once it gets too far, I will assume that the rest just is not worth my time.
