I get that he is a bit delusional and might not make the connection that giving affection to someone touch starved and abused can have consequences beyond just improving their lives, but if her power is directly correlated to how much affection she receives, then surely that would be explained in the game and understood that he is going to be power leveling her.

I've seen enough of this manga to know that while Reina is chasing after Kael, the capture targets are chasing after her. You don't get all those heartwarming scenes of her being all googly-eyed unless she's found her prey.

So what does she think of the capture targets? Are they typical good-looking, yet insufferable male leads? Or are they actually decent people?

Those are both bad news to me. I wanted to read a sweet story of her healing her suffering and becoming a happy child. And then going into a Katarina-like story.
My expectations now clash with reality, and I feel dissapointed. Still, the development so far has been nice, so maybe the latter chapters will also be good.
