so this is some big moment right? things are happening behind the scenes. they were not meant to go here, so after headmaster girl left someone changed things.
so someone is trying to get this girl killed, so they either know it will start a conflict or they know specifically the details of the game? former seems a stretch tbh, that would mean predicting exactly how the father will behave

Looks like something he recognises from the original game, and which was considered a Trash Item.
Might well not be here, given that there's quite a few things in the story so far that weren't useful to players, either due to Plot/background or mechanics, but may well have significance to "npc's".

One such thing is the "strong" sword art that was only available to NPC's, specifically enemies, but for which our MC "may" have talent for, as mentioned/hinted at several times in earlier chapters.
(not taking any bets on that one... that one's telegraphed so hard it's a No Shit, Sherlock...pretty obvious who'll eventually teach him as well..)
