Likely, they probably know she typically only retaliates rather than instigates. I don't know why they'd assume though. It's like pointing a loaded revolver at your head and "assuming" the current chamber is empty.
Considering it was the Empire spy who suggested the king kidnap Angelica's daughter..... yeaaaaah. Retaliation? More like complete and utter annihilation. The rumors about the True ancestor are true. They've seen it first hand. It's utter nonsense to continue forward.

They're so done, lmao. Years of preparation, just to get killed after your entire plan turned out successful.
these morons were trying to invoke a Maxim 47 situation and DIDNT consider that either they get a ready to conquer territory being actively policed by a wrathful demigod, or a completely worthless cratered moonscape.

Remember folks, Maxim 29: The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy, no more, no less. Just because she destroyed Ziljan doesnt mean shes an ally.
Were true ancestors a thing before Tsukihime?
well, Type-Moon stole the concept from Vampire: The Masquerade which started in 91, dunno if theres lineage to before that, but thats the earliest i know of that Vampires get weaker the more distant the relation to the person who first became a vampire was.

congrats to those who called that guy being a spy for the empire
I would have gone through and collected all those who called it and put it in the end card but I used up all the space on names relating to music instead :kek:

Admittedly I kinda skimmed the last chapters while at work but I genuinely thought he was just an idiot. Not too uncommon for princes to be morons (and I admittedly just binged an anthology about idiot princes annulling their engagements).

dont think it even comes down to them being imperialists. Even the guildmaster was surprised at how much she cared for her daughter. Sure they know she Cares for her but probably more as a pet she can amuse herself with til she grows bored.
I mean both can be true and very much is true in this case. The King was an idiot, but he was also manipulated.
Only question was, whether it was a foreigner manipulating him or someone who wanted to ursurp the crown for himself.

All that said, we also might be underestimating just how long the Vampire hadn't shown herself in public, making it easier to attribute her powers to the realm of legends and myths.

"Turns out that Gordon was a spy manipulating the foolish king!"

... wait, were there actually people who didn't think that was the case?
It would not be the first time I've read a manga where an idiot noble encouraged their king to destroy the country.

That being said, it was kind of obvious he was a spy when he repeatedly told the king "Antagonize the vampire queen! Nothing bad can happen!"

"I'm just making sure I'm won't make her sad" should be: I won't make her sad.
I think " I'm not saddening her" is correct too but a bit too eloquent

Also how did they find out Gordon was a spy? Did I miss something or was it the mangaka skipping something from the novel?
Edit: seems like they did not find out about the spy huh. It was just genocide out of precaution. :meguusmug:
