Unless there are some formalities scheduled for later, why would you even care if she drank alcohol? It's not a legal drinking age thing, is it? LOL

She's watching over her. She's not going to let her make a bad impression under her watch. She can't stop her being a whore because she has plausible deniability there, but she can stop her from drinking

I was actually starting to feel some pity for how they were getting bullied by the servitude, and then she went ahead and insulted her half brother, who was legitimately just worried about here. Now I want her to die in a gutter alongside her brother.

The whole idea here is letting them embarass themselves into a bastard purge casus belli, and Evan's side was going along with it.

Once again, in another villain backstory chapter, I have no idea why people think authors do it to make you sympathize with them. Whatever a villain's current motivations are in the present always have some sort of underlying source in the past. Unless they're a psychopath or a sociopath, people don't just grow up into a villain by living a normal life.

Knowing a villain's backstory simply gives you ground on why they act the way they do. You could definitely tell that they got some inferiority-superiority complex due to how their upbringing was (especially with such a wet rag of a crown prince being used as the comparison). Does that mean it's a good justification? Hell no, but at least it's a valid explanation on why they're doing the things they're doing now.

They're still shitty people don't get me wrong here, but at least you know why they're shitty people.

The author/mangaka did the same for Serana's adoptive sister, introduce a marginally moving backstory and then destroy any built-up sympathy in one or two sentences.

The crown prince seems like the quiet type, those are normally the scariest ones if pushed over the edge. Wouldn't be surprising if he served the twins the severed head of their homewrecker mom on a silver plater at the end of this arc.

Weird, if her goal is to let them two fuck stuff up, why not just let her get drunk?
Also, aren't they a bit too close...? I get the backstory but, ya know

Hard to do with all the “let them suffer so much they regret existing” mood towards villain. It’s easier if they’re 100% bad.

Like, for Shagard, maybe, he suffer quite a lot because of them, he got the right to be angry and emotional.
But for bystander, that looks more like wanting torture porn without guilt than actually wanting justice. So knowing more about the character outside stuffs that justify worse punishment is seen as waste of screen time.

She's watching over her. She's not going to let her make a bad impression under her watch. She can't stop her being a whore because she has plausible deniability there, but she can stop her from drinking
And Aisha can’t make excuse she unknowingly drink alcohol either. Serena warned her.

bloodline. if not mistaken usually the Queen is picked from Ducal house or have ties with Royalty.
And influence too.
In situation with power struggle between royalties trying to avoid being mere figurehead, and nobilities wanting the other way around, it would be helpful to have queen from family who can help convince the nobilities to be more cooperative.

It seems to be cut from the manga, but in King Rashid’s checklist of why his son fucked up, one of it is because Shagard’s maternal family is really angry for the insult their daughter get with the infidelity accusation, and the nobilities are backing them. Their rank is marques if I’m not mistaken. The king probably had to concede things if he wants to avoid the nobles causing actual damage; like how Astra’s King have to publicly apologise to Duke Violet after Heinrich publicly dishonoured Rosemary.

it's a way for her to let out pressure.
it's very normal for abused children to abuse other children they see as weak as a way to cope with their own problems.
this obviously doesn't make it right, but it's mostly a product of her essentially growing up in a constantly hostile and demanding environment.
much like how the fault with her sister was her mom raising her badly, and the fault with the other prince was his mom, the fault for their behavior ultimately falls on the grandparent who decided to scorn them, their retarded parents, and the castle staff.

They are easy target to bully after all.
The only real backing they have is their father who is still considered royalty.
But they are never allowed to use the royal family’s name (they use their mother’s family name), explicitly saying they are not royal family.

Everyone know the king doesn’t prefer them, their mother’s family is low ranked (weak political influence and likely had enough with their daughter causing scandal), and they won’t get close to the throne so no risk of future repercussion. Safe target who has nearly no way to fight back.
