This "always train at 100%" mentality is just bad. For one, you can't really train at 100%, since most people aren't psychopaths who'd attack to kill when sparring with their friends. Second, it limits what you can do to what you're already best at. Try to train something you're less good at, and you're not fighting at 100%. Also, claiming that losing a bit of stats hurts? Sure, it might, but compared to real injuries and risk of death? In reality, you need that little bit of safety to be able to go as all out as you can. Otherwise you'll still hesitate.
