The part that matter to Second? That the tournament he want to enter as part of his path to World's No 1 might not happen if the 1st prince become king.
So this is just him (well, Windfield's) plan to take 1st prince down and let Myne (the 2nd prince) become the heir.

There's a lot of pieces involve and some of them were mentioned in passing during previous chapters (like the death of Yukari's previous master was part of this power struggle) so it's understandable why you might lose track of them.
