As such, we have decided to translate the chapters as well for those of you that wish to read up to date on MD. Once again, apologies to those of you that thought this was a new chapter and have wasted your time reading it multiple times at this stage.

Also, chapter 49 should come out around the 19th according to ComicWalker so we'll do our best to deliver that ASAP!

If you just wanted to provide good, legit releases faster and better than LIG/CAT do, then just say so, what's with the roundabout speech?
Again, not to be unpleasant, just genuinely wondering. Heck, i'm gonna compare your releases, and maybe i'll stick with you guys, who knows.

To my understanding, someone that wasn't OC was uploading their releases here. OC requested that they either be unbanned or their releases be taken down, and so the latter occurred.

You're absolutely right. In truth, we have approached LIG and tried to organise a joint to speed up releases, but they weren't interested. Out of respect for the work they've done thus far, we decided to leave it at that. However, seeing as OC is doing it now, it doesn't sit well with me to have this series used as an advertisement for their cloud services. That's basically the excuse that I'm using, but you're right in saying that I really did just want an excuse to do this series out of love for the work. I was already doing the Roxy spin-off and both series are a bunch of fun to TL. These are my personal opinions on the matter, but thanks for reading!

It's more annoying than it is entertaining. He just says stupid shit when he reuploads a chapter and or when people get pissed at him. Anything else just reads like a narcissist that quickly putters out because everyone, including himself, knows he's full of shit and he can hardly defend it. Just watch for LetItGo uploads and if it's a reupload odds are he's said something stupid. If you want real entertainment, watch his toady try to defend him. I'll give you 3 guesses as to who that is. If you can't figure it out, go check out Ch.86 of DanMachi or Ch.44 of this series. Dude's just plain crazy.

Examples:

Send complaints about duplicate chapters to the other group.

*Context: He reuploaded DanMachi Ch.86 and said this in the comments. Ch. 86 was uploaded 2 months ago and LetItGo hadn't translated DanMachi in 4 months and the last chapter they translated was Chapter 82. So not only did they skip chapters, snipe the series, reupload a chapter AND not even reupload the most recent chapter, the dude is blaming the translator who picked it up after his group dropped it.*

So yeah, it bugs me a bit when someone doesn’t ping me to see if we need help on whatever step... they just jump in and do their own version of it.

*Context: He said this in reference to groups who pick a series his group has worked on. IE he's upset someone decides to translate a manga without asking his permission.*

I didn't mean for this to get so long but I'm procrastinating a programming assignment so...

The OtakuCloud timeline is as follows:

11/8 OtakuCloud^[1] creates an account, creates a group, releases a chapter, and is banned. They were banned for violating Rule 2.5, which states: "Chapters from groups linking to group sites which adopt excessive profiteering techniques are not allowed."^[2]. It was determined that OtakuCloud's site^[3] violates this rule because the site only advertises its cloud service and has no mention of anything scanlation related. The chapter is deleted from Mangadex.

11/20-11/27 OtakuCloud uploads c45-48 of MT to r/manga.^[4]

11/27 A well meaning user on MangaDex uploads the chapters OtakuCloud released on r/manga to mangadex. This was able to happen as MangaDex Staff had neglected to lock the OtakuCloud group when banning the OtakuCloud user.
OtakuCloud complains about their chapters being uploaded by someone other than themselves on r/mangadex^[5], stating:

We were informed that someone is uploading our scans onto your website under our manga group name. We don't mind uploading our scans onto your website ourselves, but having someone represent us that isn't us isn't cool...Please either delete our scans from your website, or lift our ban so we can claim our group and accurately represent ourselves.

Zephyrus then clears up the issue^[6], stating:

OtakuCloud has been banned from MangaDex because their website directs to a cloud storage service. We have a very strict no advertising or excessive profiteering policy. Staff decided that we did not want readers to be directed to a service when most readers are just on MD to read manga.
It was an oversight that the group was not locked after OtakuCloud was banned. That has been rectified and the offending chapters have been removed.

The OtakuCloud group is locked and the releases are nuked.

Ah, didn't knew how much chapters by OS were actually uploaded here, but it seems i knew the most of the story. Still, not sure why you decided to chime in, since LetItGo/CAT are not dropping this, but i'm not complaining

On that front, while you're correct in saying that LIG/CAT haven't dropped the series, they have been fairly delayed in their releases, which I think is likely due to a personnel shortage. So when OC took it and quickly released up to date, it essentially forced readers that wanted to catch up to either read on their page with its advertisements of their cloud services or on a mirror site with horrendous ads (I used to read on KissManga and the ads would absolutely ruin a beautiful chapter from time to time).

We were already looking at doing this series as a joint but since that didn't pan out and OC was going to keep releasing on the other platforms, I figured we may as well do the series for the people that wanted to read on MangaDex.

There's no offence intended to LIG by this release, since I understand that a bigger group is naturally going to run into more logistical problems. But at the same time, we wanted to release quality versions of the chapters closer in step with its releases, since the manga deserves to be read.

With that, I ask that if the official work is available in your country, and you have the means to purchase it then please do so. I personally really enjoy having the physical edition that I can pick up and re-read whenever, and the manga volumes do come with little side stories that aren't available here. As far as I'm aware, the English release is up to volume 8 now, and covers Paul's reappearance, which I thought was a really good return to form for the series.
