Undecided, but presumably just by normal elimination and possible RNG for the match-up pairings. Could also use finals format.

The rudimentary bracket I just made would take ~33 days overall, which is too many imo.

Only using a losers bracket from a certain point could reduce the days tho. If double-elimination only started from top 16 onward, it would only take ~22 days for the whole thing, which is doable.

While rearranging wouldn't necessarily be 'too little too late', I'd actually prefer to let the current order run its course on second thought. It's not outrageously skewed, I'd say.

As for a top 8 double-elimination, I think it would be a good addition. Not 100% either way though. But I'll consider it.
