No ties this round, but quite a few close matches. I hope we eventually get to see a match-up with only one vote on one side.

My favorites from this quadrant are Fuyu Biyori, Shura, and More One Night. Too bad they're all in the top half of the quadrant tho.

Three of my favorite submissions were listed in a row for this quadrant. I guess it was a test from RNJesus himself.

I dont even know why I keep coming back to these tournaments. Its just a reminder on how people prefer shit music above quality music.

I thought Tokohana was one of my best picks, but I guess it was doomed the moment it lined up against a Gintama ED theme! 😅

Yeah, tbh while it's objectively more fair to line up match-ups by RNG, it can also lead to really strong submissions being knocked out in early rounds by other really strong submissions.

I've considered doing it non-randomly, but idk how fair it would be to rank the strength of the submissions by myself and then choose the lineup based on that.

Big Fighting game tournaments like EVO (Rip EVO 2020) have to modify their pool system so they can spread out the known good fighters from randoms because if they suddenly find themselves facing two very good fighters, it can end up in some very disappointing finals. (Of course, this gives everyone a chance to beat the popular fighters for bragging rights).

Also, apparently there was once a death pool with people dying both in game and outside of it because they had to play so many matches iirc.

It does make sense to do honestly. Maybe I'll try it sometime in the future. It was also part of my reasoning for changing the finals format like I did.

Wuh? Dying outside the game? Why so many matches?

K-On! ED - Don't say "lazy" vs. Kill Me Baby ED - Futari no Kimochi no Honto no Himitsu
while lazy is a classic and great, i'll vote for the kill me baby, for the dumb fun, both song and dance

AnoHana ED - secret base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~ (10 years after ver.) vs. Land of the Lustrous ED1 - Kirameku Hamabe
😢

Ouran High School Host Club ED - Shissou vs. Rurouni Kenshin ED5 - It's gonna rain!

Angel Beats! ED1 - Brave Song vs. Guilty Crown ED1 - Departures ~Anata ni Okuru Ai no Uta~

Bleach ED3 - Houkiboshi vs. Gintama ED14 - Wo Ai Ni
Wo Ai Ni for some reason always makes me think of the visuals for the OP of Natsu no Arashi

Gintama' ED1 - Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!) vs. Vinland Sage ED2 - Drown
both great, but i like Drown a wee bit more

High Score Girl ED - Houkago Di(e)stra(u)ction vs. Grand Blue ED - Konpeki no Alfine ~Nikenme ni Karaoke ni Haitta Oretachi no Tension Super MAX ver.~

Hunter x Hunter (2011) ED2 - HUNTING FOR YOUR DREAM vs. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ED1 - Hare Hare Yukai
while believe Hare Haru Yukai will win, it's the original ending dance meme after all, HxH(2011) is one of my favourites and the song is too good

Dying in quotes lol, I don't remember exactly what happened, I'll look up the video I saw and put it here, from what I remember (which you shouldn't trust until I confirm it) the tournament in question had the basic winners pool and the losers pool (which became the death pool), winners stay on that pool while losers get moved to the bigger losers pool so you can have the best player of the winners agains the best player of the losers, losers pool basically gives you a second chance.

What happened this time I think was that instead of creating mulitple losers pools, the TOs only made a single big pool, so all of the loser players that won had to play way more matches than normal, unlike the winner pool players. This obviously would end up exhausting people and taking a long time for the tournament to finally get its two best players face each other.
