Hey remember when Jojo part 5 had a complete translation that was so awful in a not-immediately-obvious way that none of the English-language Jojo fanbase liked it? Because I do. I'm not personally a Japanese reader so I can't speak on the actual quality of this series' translations but I definitely believe that if someone thinks there are such serious issues with a manga translation that they want to do something about it, more power to them.

I like how Prides defenders do so by misremembering facts and ignoring how the whole situation was handled

#1 poorer quality translation either mi translating words/sentences (because google fucking translate i assume)
#2 poor typesetting
#3 Bullied the only other translation group into stopping (harassment in dm's if Iota is to be believed)
#4 refusal to work with the already existing translation team
#5 harassment of pretty much anyone who raises a valid point somehow acts entitled while happily proclaiming what hes doing is illegal

Now the comments has to deal with his toxic ass because we have no alternatives

#6 : He pretty much confirmed his alt is who i thought it was and he was already banned once for pulling this shit (his fanboying over kissmanga is a give away) not the sniping shit thats new but generally being an unpleasant person

#7 there are certain accounts on this very chapter thread that raise some interesting points...and by interesting i mean agree with Pride verbatim and considering hes already willing to ban evade with an alt is it that much of a stretch to assume hes sock puppeting as well? I'm not gonna name accounts simply because confirmation bias is a thing but looks through the last 2-3 pages of comments and compare them to Pride I wanna see how man people find results similar to mine.

1) Patently false. Stop trying to convince people until you have hard evidence.
2) By xxsaznpride's own admission it's not the greatest, but it's still quite legible. I don't believe "poor", or any of its synonyms, are apt descriptors. I'd say mediocre.
3) Where are you even getting this? What proof do you have? Hearsay from other commenters? It was pretty clear there was zero communication between groups from Iota's own posts. Nothing in comments on the main thread or in other threads from Ch. 87 onward indicates what you claim.
4) By xxsaznpride's own admission, and with what I feel are valid reasons, having been in similar situations. Sucks, but that's how some folks like to roll.
5) False. xxsaznpride responds in kind. If your comments are hateful and rude, they'll respond like for like. Anyone that's had a modicum of respect in conversation with them received equal respect. Have you tried communicating in a way that isn't confrontational or toxic?
And I don't think it was a "happy proclamation" that scanlation isn't legal. I'm not sure where anyone would sense that.
6) When? How? What does this have to do with anything? Based on prior comments, I doubt they're much of a fan of Kissmanga anymore (and I'd hope no one else here is of that hive of scum and villainy).
7) What even. Now you're going into tinfoil hat territory. I don't see where sock puppeting/alt accounts would even benefit them, given the effort required to maintain. Even this counterargument will likely have little bearing on whether others continue to read or drop the series.

You have said much and provided little proof. Your arguments are incoherent, emotionally-fueled, and scream of the need to be right, no matter how much evidence points in the opposite direction. I'm not sure why you feel the need to continue beating a horse that was dead from the start, but whatever floats your boat. You're defending someone in no need of your style of defense.

I mean, I'm getting better at it, but as of right now, my typesetting is a solid 5/10 like he said.
Good points of my TS: shows basic understanding of shaping test within each bubble, is justified center instead of left, doesn't use Comic Sans or Ariel
Bad points of my TS: Inconsistent vertical and horizontal spacing with regards to speech bubbles, inconsistent shaping of text within each bubble, lack of font diversity.

I'm guessing you've never been in a scanlation group, so lemme break it down as I understand it.
Scanlation lives and dies by translators. You can have all the cleaners and typesetters you want, but if no one translates your mango, you're shit out of lucko.
Therefore, translators ultimately decide what projects a group will work on.
I am my own group, therefore I pick the project I want to work on.
Some projects I pick because people asked nicely, while other projects I pick because I want to work on them.
This time, I pick MazoHaha because I want to work on MazoHaha, therefore I work on Mazohaha.

You can say this is self-centered, egotistical, etc., but it's also the hard truth of pirating foreign media.

This way everyone is happy right and your effort and time will be of better use and appreciated more? Or does all that have no importance to you at all?

Forgive me if I'm understanding thjs wrongly but is the only reason you choose to translate this manga because you simply felt like it? Then why spite Entropia scans by claiming their translation are of lower quality than yours? Sounds weird dude.😵

I honestly originally wasn't planning on saying anything about Entropia at all when I started, but then people started saying Entropia's TLs were better than mine and, more importantly, that mine were machine translations. See the comment section for ch87 (my release). They got emotional over a perceived slight and started throwing shit.

Here's the thing:
I did do due diligence and looked through all the relevant comment threads (main within the past few days, Ch. 87+). To my knowledge, Iota only ever posted in the main thread -- if further posts were made in chapter threads by them, that's a mistake on my part and I'll go back and review. I saw about four posts in total from Iota that were relevant to the situation, none of which gave any indication of the things you're claiming.

So i skimmed the comments but are people bitching about shaming someone in a chapter. As far as I am concerned dont make an account to INSULT someone (Not even discuss something) and expect not to be called out. I dont care who it is if your actively looking to insult someone then you deserve to be called out / rebutted / shamed. If he had simply wanted to discuss something thats a different matter. I dont know why people care so much on this topic. Its not like the guy asked a simple question and got shamed he was insulting someone. To be fair I also have no context for this situation but it wouldnt change my opinion on calling someone out. It would only alter my perception of the person calling them out. Which at the end of the day, I dont care about a scanlation / translators drama all I care about is the quality of their work.
