@3ds1234 She's a kid, and he's an adult. Everyone tries to compare them like they're equals but they are not even on the same scales. kousuke should know better. Hell, he does know better. He's been acknowledging how creepy the situation is for the longest time.

Kousuke seriously is a piece of shit for the way he handled that encounter and I'm sure everyone is cheering "way to stand up for yourself" but shit dude, he literally just walked out on his daughter so he can attempt to fulfill some delusion about how he is the only person on the planet who could ever help this child who is either in love with him or in love with the idea of treating him like a pet. That's some messed up thought processes. Reality check: she needs real help, not your D, bro.

@SleepyZenSenpai He hadn't been trying to get his daughter's attention. She withdrew into her room and he left her in there, thinking she needed space and eventually would come out. Any attempt he made to get her out of there was half-hearted at best and he knows it. He should have broke the damn door down and rescued her from wallowing in that room all alone but he didn't. He was too focused on work and escaping his own inner termoil, and to be fair his rationale wasn't irrational -- he needs to be able to support his daughter financially, and it's also a good place to not think about your problems. Problem was he wasn't doing her any favors.

When he FINALLY got the courage to talk to her openly about things, she IMMEDIATELY started coming out of her shell. Just in time for him to fall in love with her friend.

@TheDarthTaco
I'm not even reading the chapters now, just the comments
So many people trying to justify a 40-something going after a 16 yo 😆
And wishing harm on his teenage daughter for being a teenage girl with a fucked up dad

@NonVoice after her mother died and she withdrew, her father did nothing more than "give her space", and when he opend up and started talking with her, she started going to school again, only to find out that he was in a super weird and creepy relationship with her 16 yo friend

@sirflimflam And what real help can she get. Please tell me how because as you've seen she's not going to go against her mother. As sad as it is the father is her only outlet of help and please don't act like he wants to fuck her when she is the one pushing herself into him. I agree this whole scenario is screwed up but I doubt she'll ever get any help at all especially since this is in Japan.

Breaking down her door is the worst idea ever. Have you ever delt with people that lock themselves in their room. Forcing them out is only going to get them to reject you even further.

@sirflimflam About the getting help. I ask again how. She doesn't seem like she's made any attempt and is actively pursuing a grown man instead of getting the help she needs. Even when the grown man attempted to help her she pulls this shit saying it's not what she wants. I'm sorry but while I really don't like it the father is, to her, her only option for help regardless of the consequences.

His response is bad but even if he didn't love her and really wants to help what exactly can get do?

@NonVoice You mean normally? Cause that's how it looks to me. Do you all live in a world where a middle age man is an acceptable romantic partner for a 16 year old who by all accounts looks like he's going through a midlife crisis? Cause where I live, that's really messed up! Hell, it's the friend she grew up with, the friend Kousuke has known since she was a wee little girl, so her vomiting once reality sinks in and he openly picks dating a child over his own daughter is totally within my list of acceptable reactions.

I mean, take out any understanding you think you have have between Kousuke and and his child crush because real people aren't omnipotent to this sort of information like we are as readers and it boils down to a story about a girl hitting on a middle age man and him totally going for it. What else about that is Miya supposed to understand? That her dad is lonely and overworked? And dating her friend is an acceptable outlet for that?

@3ds1234 Real help as in professional help. Her mother is abusive and she's reaching out for freedom through a connection she finds with a harmless old man who instead of being dominated by, is able to be the person in control. That's literally been her whole shtick this entire story. This is not a good mentality to have in a relationship. Even IF she sticks with Kousuke to the end, I hope he doesn't pull another Miya on her and sees to it she actually gets real help instead of just sticking his dick in her and placating the immediate issue in her mind.

Breaking the door down was metaphorical, but I'll grant you I didn't really make that clear. The point I was making was he did NOTHING the whole time. He accepts this as the truth and finally tries to connect with his daughter for the first time since his wife died and the first thing his daughter does is come out of her room.

Dad has finally fully embraced the madness. Unless the mangaka pulls a deus ex machina happy ending out of his ass, all possible endings are now bad endings.

"i've been doing my best to understand you"
Not talking to him for months, blame him for your mother's death, running away from home and now you feel betrayed? F**k you Miya, you never tried to understand your father.

the moment I see the update I was like "nooo goddammit, I'm gonna sleep with a bad note"

first, people talking miya and the dad are not equals are right, he's the dad... BUT when TF was she trying to understand him, pretty much after escaping for a friggin long time on her room, she gets to school and escape from him. And she returns after so long, specially since seconds ago she didn't want to return home and saw the mom freakin out on her... the actual option was go with him and help her friend (that moments ago she actually forgave and say she was her friend, then friggin help her and while doing that make the dad don't f*ck out more).

the other part, no Kousuke you don't love her, you need to say dad so she still needs you, she was finally the safe place in the middle of all the shit that was happening, but she's a friggin bomb and you knew all the time about that. So if he ends in jail it's gonna be his fault 100%.

So yeah, it's official all the main characters are pieces of shit, kudos author for making horrible and kind of realistic people 👏👏👏.
the only decent people we have seen so far where the cops that actually listened to the story... and that's unrealistic af, so kinda BS.

@seth90 @sirflimflam

i dont think her father just "Give her space" man... he tried and we can see how she really is... just go to the first chapter and tell me if what you are saying is just "Give her space"... and im not talking about the relationship betwen Kousuke and Koto, we are all agree that is fucked up, and i love the fact the even the protagonist knows it....

But her daughter is just shit, just read the manga all over again seeing how kousuke tries to reach her daughter and when she finally comes out, what she does?

Even in the situation when he told her to comeback to his parents city, the way she react and how she build up a wall around him... even when he put a stop to all the Kisaragi koto relationship...

Just because he is 40 he cant feel abandoned and depressed?

With or Without Kisaragi Koto around the picture... miya is a terrible daughter.
