Fighting his old party was a long time coming. Unleash all that pent up resentment built up over years of abuse. Their "tactic" is not very smart though. With numbers like that they should all have attacked at the same time, not sequentially which is just asking for defeat in detail. He can also kite them and pick them off one-by-one so long as they continue to attack in turns. But hey, they're all idiots so that explains the "tactic" pretty well.
